Rheem gas furnace blower unit not working properly

I have a Rheem gas furnace, model RGPN-10EAMER. The blower unit appears to work but air is not (noticeably) blowing from the ceiling air ducts. The burner unit is working fine. How do you adjust the blower speed to increase the air flow?

Look at circuit board and follow wires that come from fan motor, if this is a standard motor black is high and it will be going to a prong that says cool, red is low and it will go to heat, you will have a yellow and a blue that are "parked" remove red park it were the blue is and put blue on heat, if this is a variable speed motor you will have to set dip switches via your equipment manual

You have either a defective thermocouple or a faulty gas valve.
Look online for methods of checking the thermocouple
milli-volts reading with a multimeter. 15 or 20 Mv is the average.

I just had my furnace cleaned it is a gas rheem. The service guy said it was overheated because of a#3 tube he said the furnace heat exchange is black. What can be do regarding this

I presume you're talking about a gas furnace, even tho the title says Rheem gas water heater. Either way, it works the same for both.

Any black coloring on the heat exchanger is *not* from overheating. Black is from a sooty flame caused by a mis-adjusted burner. (In fact, a sooty flame is less hot). There is an adjustable "air intake plate" for air to enter the burner where the gas enters the burner. A proper flame is made by adjusting this air opening so the proper gas/air mixture feeds into the burner. If the air vent is closed too much it produces a sooty flame.
The age of the furnace is the most important aspect, and that helpful to determine a likely condition of the heat exchanger and burners. Other than a badly adjusted flame, the main thing to watch for is a badly rusted out heat exchanger. But black does not mean rust.

Fan does not shut off

If everything else appears to be working properly could be the thermostat calling for fan or installed improperly.

Rheem rgph 10eamer 8 yrs old ...blower motor wont stop running...i had the a/c on....decided to ck the furnace ...switched to heat...blower still running....no spark from direct spark...

Hi Richard. The switch they are talking about has a small tube coming from the induction blower housing straight to the switch. The best way to test it is to blow and **** on the tube while it is still connected to the switch. You should hear small clicking sounds coming from the switch, if not than it needs to be replaced. Another thing to try is a small wire or paperclip through the small opening where the tube came off. Sometimes this gets clogged and causes the same issue. Other than that, it can be a blocked flue or the inductive blower motor itself is not working properly. Hope this helps and good luck!

Do you have the code reference on your furnace door? If so what does it say? The furnace has locked itself out, and we need to determine what in the world it needs..
