Question about Canon PowerShot A430 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Batteries draining Hi My camera drains the batteries within 5 minutes of inserting them. I don't think it's the batteries as my partner uses the same ones in his camera and doesn't have the same problem. Any advice would be greater appreciated. Thanks Kathryn

Re: Batteries draining

Check that you DO have the correct batteries for YOUR camera in power out put .
If you have according to the manual then contact the Canon as this could be a fault.

My Samsung ES15 camera drains the batteries after 3-5 pictures are taken.

What batteries are you using ? Some batteries, although the correct nominal voltage for the camera, are not powerful enough for continued use. I have found the best solution is to use rechargeable NiMH batteries of at least 2100 MaH, preferably 2500 MaH.

My dc 3400 does not maintain memory when I change the batteries and I have to reset the date each time. Is the a back up battery within the camera that I can change?

That camera is around 10 years old.
I don't think it has a backup battery it is a small capacitor mounted on the motherboard.
If you're very fast you may be able to change the batteries before the faulty capacitor drains but I doubt it.
Capacitors wear out over time, short of taking it apart finding it and replacing it I can think of no solution. If it is a SMT cap (surface mounted with no wires) this may be incredibly difficult.

Buy really good high capacity batteries so you don't have to change them as often.

It's only a 10 year old 2.3 megapixle camera, you really deserve better and Kodak still makes fine cameras. That camera has done it's duty.
For $60 you can get a camera 10 times better than that one.

Hi I put new batteries in the camera and it comes up after a few minutes please replace batteries Thanks

I hope the camera is pulling the maximum out of ur batteries and so your batteries are getting drained soon. One better solution for your problem is to go for rechargeable batteries. They will reduce the cost on which u r spending for your batteries. You can charge it and use it when it is getting drained.

My battery drains out within 15-20 pictures on the A550. What is the reason? I am using Eveready Duracell batteries. If I just remove and insert the same batteries again it takes about 5-10 pictures more....

digital cameras are just like leeche for batteries.even if you spend a thousand rupees for an imported alkaline it would go off in 20 mins.get yourself a rechargeable NiMH batteries.

Battteries depleted messageon Pentax Espio E40, even though have tried brand new batteries.

HI. this seems to be a battery scanning fault in the programming. try to reset the board by pulling the battery and removing all power of 30 minutes. completely drain all power from this unit for 30 minutes. if this message continues after you have rest the programming, this will confirm a serious fault within the internal program. you will have to send this device back to a pentax repair terminal for reprogramming.

Kodak Z1085 IS - drains battery even when camera is not on

the camera takes 1.5v to operate it
anything less the camera will shut down
recharge batteries are only 1.4v so at full
recharge it won't last long
The best batteries are litheum that have the right
volts and capacity to keep the camera going.
try turning or the camera stablizer setting...
might save your battery power.
