Question about Canon PowerShot A430 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Batteries draining Hi My camera drains the batteries within 5 minutes of inserting them. I don't think it's the batteries as my partner uses the same ones in his camera and doesn't have the same problem. Any advice would be greater appreciated. Thanks Kathryn

I am having problems with battery life as well. I have tried branded, cheap and nasty, and rechargeable batteries but still with the same problem. Anyone got any ideas?

I have used coppertop (Duracell) batteries mainly in this camera, and everyonce in awhile I use energizer, but it seems to hold no pattern as to when it will do the same thing. It will all of a sudden display "change batteries", promptly shut down, and then upon replacing the batteries, it will do that again......very frustrating! I lost the receipt during a move, and now I have a camera, that I can't use! It is relentless with shutting down.

My daughter's camera is having the same problem. Battery output is fine. Is there a problem with this model camera? Has anyone heard from Canon?

Check that you DO have the correct batteries for YOUR camera in power out put .
If you have according to the manual then contact the Canon as this could be a fault.

Hi I put new batteries in the camera and it comes up after a few minutes please replace batteries Thanks

I hope the camera is pulling the maximum out of ur batteries and so your batteries are getting drained soon. One better solution for your problem is to go for rechargeable batteries. They will reduce the cost on which u r spending for your batteries. You can charge it and use it when it is getting drained.

Batteries are being drained. We barely use our camera and the batteries are being drained after only a few photos being taken. Camera is rarely used, maybe twice a day. At the most 5 pictures per day. ...

My battery drains out within 15-20 pictures on the A550. What is the reason? I am using Eveready Duracell batteries. If I just remove and insert the same batteries again it takes about 5-10 pictures more....

digital cameras are just like leeche for batteries.even if you spend a thousand rupees for an imported alkaline it would go off in 20 mins.get yourself a rechargeable NiMH batteries.

Battteries depleted messageon Pentax Espio E40, even though have tried brand new batteries.

HI. this seems to be a battery scanning fault in the programming. try to reset the board by pulling the battery and removing all power of 30 minutes. completely drain all power from this unit for 30 minutes. if this message continues after you have rest the programming, this will confirm a serious fault within the internal program. you will have to send this device back to a pentax repair terminal for reprogramming.

Kodak Z1085 IS - drains battery even when camera is not on

the camera takes 1.5v to operate it
anything less the camera will shut down
recharge batteries are only 1.4v so at full
recharge it won't last long
The best batteries are litheum that have the right
volts and capacity to keep the camera going.
try turning or the camera stablizer setting...
might save your battery power.

Battery drain on Canon zr70mc

If you have the idiot proof switch on, it makes everything AUTOMATIC and drains the batteries fast. Open the LCD door and check if the switch is in the wrong position and change it. Go into the menu and set thing s the way you want them. The more Auto stuff you have on, the faster the battery goes. Are you using a light? Even using the LCD uses more power than the viewfinder. Also, batteries do go bad. It's best to run them all the way down and recharge, if you haven't been doing that, short life. I buy my batts on ebay. Instead of one for $150 I get 10 three hour batteries for that.
