Question about RCA M4304 Digital Media Player

3 Answers

Using an RCA MP3 player, model M4304...After installing, uninstalling and reinstalling EasyRip 3 times, the function of ''Add to Player'' remains grayed out (non functional). Selecting songs to transfer does not ''ungray'' it. I have tried directly starting the loader and its function to transfer files to the player is grayed out also. Can you offer me any help. The manual lacks much in describing this function, and I can find nothing on their web site that comes close to addressing this problem. Thanks.

You must have items selected (highlighted) for the "Add to Player" control to be enabled. You might try using the Player Loader instead, since that is its sole purpose.

Player Loader - directly from their help file:
Load Media Player with Playlists When you want to load all of your playlists, just select whether you want to load your music, video or photo playlists, then select the"Load Player" control and let the Player Loader take care of the rest.
Step 1. Connect the media device you want to add the playlists to.
Step 2. Specify the type of playlists you want to add from the"Load With:" drop down menu
Step 3. Select the "Load Player"control OR Load Media Player with Selected Files Step 1. Connect the media device you want to add the files to. Step 2. Select which portion of the PC Library you want to select from using the "Your PC Library:" drop down menu.
Step 3. Select which files to load by adding or removing the "x" control associated with each file. The "x" can be toggled on and off by left-clicking in the box of the media item you want to select (display the "x") or deselect (not display the "x"). Note: An "x" indicates the file will be loaded.
Step 4. Select the "Load Player with Selected Files" control.

Where can i find a SMV converter for a RCA M4304 4GB I really need on it is for hw that is due in 3 days.

Go here:
and download the Media Manager software. Manuals and tutorials are there, too.
Also a copy of the easyRIP software is on the device itself, so you should be able to install without a download.
I assume you are tying to move a video file from a PC on to the M4304?

I don't know how to upload music into my M4304 RCA MP3

There should have been a file on the player that you can access through Windows Explorer (My Computer, click on the dirve that is your player) that should be named: RCAeasyRip_setup.exe

If you do not have this file, it can be downloaded from the RCA site here:

Run this file to install the RCA easyRip softwar that allows you to transfer all media. You HAVE to use this application to transfer videos because it does the conversion to a compatible format (if Windows Media Player can play it, easyRip should be able to convert it). Any questions you have about using easyRip can be accessed by the module on the dock that has a '?' on the icon for it (Look up the Player Loader module for how to transfer).

Other media you can just drag and drop to the device if you don't care about video (again, just find the drive letter that is your player in My Computer and just drag and drop music and photos onto that drive)

Lastly, you can use Windows Media Player to sync any music and photo files.

Buy an RCA and I can record a video to view in the M4304-A ay ago as I can not install the program

1. Make sure the device is in MSC mode (this should be the default, but just make sure by going into the Settings on the device's menu and checking/changing the protocol)

2. Try an alternate USB port on your computer (if you are using a USB port on the front, try one on the back)

3. Make sure you have the most up to date easyRip installer - you can download the latest one from the RCA site here:

4. Here is a list of the FAQs provided on the RCA easyRip site:

I can not get the RCA easyrip to install in my computer therefore I can't use my MP3 player

You can still use Windows Explorer to drag and drop media to your mp3 player (Go to My Computer and find the drive letter that corresponds to your device).

You can use Windows Media Player sync options. A google search should provide specific instructions how to do this.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of easyRip from their site:

RCA Easy Rip Uninstall will not... uninstall

I agree that RCA Easy Rip adds just about zero value; although i use my pearly everyday, I always access it via windows explorer as a removable drive.

I removed that program from the Pearl so it would stop asking if I wanted to install easyrip.

My suggestion for you is to run the installation software for easyrip again. I think this will help for one of two reasons:

  1. Being unable to uninstall from control panel is unusual and suggests an incomplete or corrupted installation. Reinstalling may fix the installation enough to use control panel's uninstall feature.
  2. Many software setup routines, upon finding the software already setup, will ask you if you want to remove it rather than install it a second time.

Hope that helps.

I made a grave error

I resolved my error and maybe you should try uninstall, install one more time.
For what ever reasons, I uninstalled the programs then reinstalled the program and the files are complete again.
I know I did this once before and it did not fix the problem either times so perhaps you can try it one more time.
Simply ask the RCA software to uninstall from your pc harddrive, making sure that all the files have been removed including any RCA Detective and EasyRip. Then go to the RCA website and sort through the Support and Download Updates and find the EasyRip software you can download for free from the site and follow the instructions, making sure that your player is connected to the pc while you install the software again.
Good luck and give that a try. Tell us your results here.
