SHEDDER NOT WORKING ?

If it is completely dead, check that the head is on the basket correctly as there is a safety switch in the base that is pressed by a pin on the basket.

If the motor turns but the shredder knives don't, and you have done lots of shredding, then the nylon teeth may have cracked. I have one in bits with the same problem.

At three months old, you can just return it.

My gbc cc195 shedder is not working. a red light stays on

Is it blocked with paper shreads? I have taken mine apart several tiimes to remove the small pieces of trash that clogged the micro switch that keeps it running. Also it will over heat at times if you feed it with to thick of paper stacks. I have used the reverse button a few times to clear it. It is hard so not seeing it but it can be cleared to work again. Tools I used were a paper clip and small screw driver.

You didn't indicate a specific model. So, I'm going to assume yours is relatively the same as my JWX27.

Let me start by clarifying what the red light indicates.

A solid red light indicates the cleaning cycle is in progress. A blinking red light indicates the coffeemaker is off, but due to be cleaned. When the coffeemaker is due to be cleaned, the red light will continue to blink while the coffeemaker is off until the cleaning cycle has been completed fully. The entire cleaning process takes about an hour and a half. And, it is not intuitive. So, here are my instructions.

With the coffeemaker off (with the red light blinking), pour four cups of pure white vinegar (no water added) into the reservoir. Don't short the amount. You'll need four cups to complete the cycle. Remove any filters, but leave the strainer basket in place. Tap the "select" button three times until the red light is on (and stays on, not blinking). The cleaning cycle now begins. It should take between 45 minutes and an hour to complete. Don't be concerned about the 30-minute long pause during the cycle when nothing happens. This is intentional and part of the cycle.

After the cleaning cycle has completed, get rid of the vinegar. Rinse out the strainer basket and the coffee pot. Run a full pot of clean water thru a regular brew cycle (with the pot and basket in place, of course). Then, dump the water, rinse the pot and basket again, and run another full pot of clean water thru a regular brew cycle. Dump that water too. And, you're done!

I presume you are requesting instructions for cleaning this coffeemaker...

With the coffeemaker off (either a red blinking light or no light on), pour four cups of pure white vinegar (no water added) into the reservoir. Remove any filters, but leave the strainer basket in place. Tap the "select" button three times until the red light is on (and stays on, not blinking). The cleaning cycle now begins. What is the interlock for a staples shredder

if you look at the underside of the shredder, you will likely find a pressure switch that is actuated when it sits on the stock bin, either modify it to touch when on the new bin or secure it so it is depressed all the time. This should allow it to operate on the replacement bin.

Hope this is of some help.

Red light on will not run in forward

Check to make sure the shredder is sitting on the paper bin properly. Most shredders have a sensor switch that disables the unit if it's not properly seated on the paper bin.

Shedder Doesn't Work

Are you sure the saftety switch on the left side of the shredder is in contact with the small metal latch on the inside left side of the basket. The machine won't work unless the ssfety switch is pushed in.
