A/C is most likely 12 volt, lights/outlet are on a coverter, could be the fuse in the actual converter OR the converter is bad (they are subject to high heat so failures are not uncommon). Most likely not a user serviceable issue!

Is the Hunter portable AC High Effiency Model 31125 to be plugged into a 220 outlet only?

if the plate on the side says 220 volts then it will only work on 220 -250 volts outlet
at a 110 volts outlet it will fail and at anything more than 250 volts it will burn up

Our window AC unit stopped suddenly. Completely dead. The outlet has power. It's a 220V unit. LG window AC LW2510ER Any advise what it could be? Does it shut down when it's 100F outside? Thanks...

No - the outside temperature will not shut the AC down.
You say the outlet has power? Does it have the needed 220 volts? Most of the time 220 volts is on one switch, (that operates both 110 volt legs of power at the same time). - but sometimes each leg is on a separate breaker and if "one leg" trips you will still have power at the outlet (110 volts) but you won't have the needed 220 volts. While this is not likely - it is possible - so I would want to test the outlet with a voltage tester and determine the voltage. You might try checking in your breaker box and seeing if another breaker (110volt) is tripped. The same thing applies if you are dealing with fuses instead of breakers - determine the voltage at the outlet - and if you don't have 220 and only have 110 then look for a blown fuse or as I said above - a breaker tripped.
If you do have 220 at the outlet and nothing is running - I would be looking for an inline fuse of some sort within in the unit. Many of the newer units have them and they are usually easy to spot and all you have to do is to unscrew the fuse holder and replace the blown fuse. Be sure to have the power off when handling fuses.
Note: Be aware that while breakers/fuses can trip and blow without a serious problem going on - they (blown fuses/tripped breakers) are usually a sign of something significantly wrong with the unit.
Good Luck!

My brother in-law's AC doesn't start, heater works. He just replaced batteries in TH8110U honeywell thermostat lookd like beakers in electric panel were not tripped.

Check for voltage to the outside condenser , high 220 volts and low 24 volts . There may be fuses in the disconnect box also so check them . There probably will be open circuts in the condenser.

I have a 220 volt crape maker from France. Can i change the cord on it to be used in a 110 outlet? Will it still heat up enough with 110 volts?

Unfortunately, it will probably not heat up enough on 110 volts. You could change the male plug on the end of the cord to fit your 220 volt air conditioner or cloths dryer female plug.

Wont turn on

if it's a 110 volt AC - you could try plugging another electrical device, i.e. hair dryer into the outlet to see if the outlet is working or not.

good luck!

Air conditioner not working plugged in or on generator, heat not working either--nothing 2000 jayco designer

If you have AC hydro for sure to unit, perhaps a fuse in the 12 volt DC panel has blown, or in thermostat itself. Hear any clicking at AC unit when turned on? If not, check all your fuses in 12 volt DC panel. Check breaker didn't trip also on 120 VAC.

Air conditioner won't turn on. Showing EE on the LED

hello. i can help you.

Check to see if there is power getting to the air conditioner. If it is a 110-volt unit, plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet the air conditioner is plugged into. If there's no power, check the fuses or circuit breakers. If there's still no power, you will need to contact a qualified electrician to restore power to the outlet.

If there is power to the appliance but it is still completely dead there may be a problem in one or more of the following areas:

  • Wiring (Inspect for any broken or burnt wiring)

  • Thermostat

  • Compressor

  • Overload and/or relay

  • Selector switch

  • Control board

Work on these areas of an appliance may require help from an appliance repair person or other qualified technician.
