I hope you have a virus protection turned on and up to date .
at start up you may have too many program loading up and you will have to reduce the amount of program starting at the start .
now , try to star your pc in safe mode and run you scan .

I highly recommend you to start the computer as SAFE MODE (press F8 just before the windows logo appears, and select the option SafeMode)

Once it is done, Go to hard disk properties, tools and run DEFRAG (Defragmentation), It will take a long time (perhaps 6 hours), after it is finished, Run an anti-virus to determine if there is a virus or other malicious software.

It should have the computer fine after the process is done.

If not, perhaps the OS is damaged and needs to be restored. (reinstalled or using the RESTORE process from system utilities).

You probably have a very active anti-virus program.
Power ON the laptop and leave the room for an hour.
Whne you come back, uninstall the AV program (Symantec/Norton??)
[Start]
[Control Panel]
[Add / Remove Programs]
Find Symantec Anti-Virus near the bottom of the list
(or whatever AV program you are using.
[REMOVE]
The password is: symantec
(in case it asks).

Let us know what happens.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Iphone has frozen. Won't take calls, won't turn

hold on the power and home buttons until the screen goes black, once black keep holding the buttons until you see an apple logo then release, this is a soft reset. if this doesnt work plug into itunes and when the computer recoginizes it click restore. this will delete everything on your phone and take it back to the way it was when you bought it.

Computer common problems easy fix.

The most common problem with computers is them freezing up.
When applications dont load or freeze up.
The easiest way to fix most problems is usually just the simple act of "rebooting" the computer.
Most of us already know that.
but just in case you dont heres how.
when the computer seems frozen and you seem to have waited longer for it to unfreeze than it takes for bread to toast.. you can try the following.
press and hold the crtl anf alt buttons and double tap the del button.
on older computers using windows 98- 2000 and millenium editions it will usually reboot the computer. also works with older versions.
with xp and vista you will usually fet a differernt screen that will allow you to choose various options.. choose restart.
another way is to click on the start button located on the bottom left of your screen and choose restart option. if the computer is so frozen that nothing works you can press and hold the power button unti lthe computer shuts down.. wait 30 seconds and turn the computer back on..if that doesnt work then you may have to turn of the power switch..but only if you have to..with laptops you will have to take out the battery. when the comp reboots the computer should be unfrozen..if not you will need more help ..just ask us..

Computer may or may not start up. When it does, it may or may ..

Go with a known good working hard drive, its the easiest thing to replace and instead of reimaging it, install windows from scratch and then load the drivers for whatever it doesnt find and then see how it runs, if the lockups stop happeneing then load the apps that you want and everything should be okay.

Problem with bios image and reseting

You can do two things
1. take pin from BIOS and let it reset.

2. Take BIOS battery and reload battery after 2 minutes.

And if these things do not work then finally take BIOS update from net and install the update and defintiley this will help you.

My tomtom receiver is frozen on the start screen.

Connect your TomTom to the USB cable then turn on your TomTom in that order. Go to "My Computer" and open the drive that is your TomTom. Copy and paste your map folder to the desktop. Delete everything on your TomTom (don't format). After deleting everything on your TomTom. Open TomTom Home. TomTom Home will tell you, you need an application for your TomTom. Let TomTom Home load the application. You will probably have to do this at least 2 times to get the latest application for your device. After TomTom Home has loaded the latest application for your device closer TomTom Home and copy and paste your map back onto your TomTom. You should be ready to go after doing this. Make sure you do not skip a step when doing this.

Creative zen v problems-frozen

If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

GE front loader will not drain or final spin.

I had the same problem with mine about 10 months ago. It seemed that the washer would take forever to wash a load. Every time we went to check the remaining time, it seemed that it never changed. This went on for about a week. We discovered that the washer was not draining properly. After we took it apart, we discovered that a sock, along with some other items, had managed to find its way into the drain pipe. Once we removed the stoppage, and cleaned out the gunked up piping, everything worked well. If we could only find a permanent solution to the ripping door gasket (I have to buy one today; it's the 4th one!!!!).

BTW - I contacted GE about the problem, via email and phone, and they were clueless and not very helpful.

Frozen mouse with a touch pad laptop computer

Many laptops have a button, usually located right above the touchpad, that disables the touchpad.

And there may be drivers that need to be loaded for some touchpads to operate properly, in case you've reinstalled the OS.
