You need to check the adjustment for the travel of the door ... All automatic closers have a built in safety mechanism that prevents children, pets and even yourself from being crushed by the door ... so if the travel is set to low the door will hit the ground too hard and safety mechanism will activate opening the door again! Look at you documentation for how to adjust this for your particular model :)

If the main light is flashing 10 times it is a door sensor problem and most likely need to be aligned. They must be pointed at one another to work properly. If it is hitting the floor and reversing and the main light is not flashing then you need to adjust the 'down limit'. This is on the side of the motor unit and you need to turn it in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Some tweaking will most likely be needed.

When I press to open the door goes up, however when closing it only goes down halfway then opens up again

The circuit that prevents door from closing when there is an obstruction is responsible. Check to make sure that the laser light by the bottom of the door is getting to the receiver on the other side of the door. Make sure there is nothing obstructing that ray. If so the door will attempt to close , then stop and return back to the top.

Garage door closes but doesn't stay closed

if nothing is obstructing the door then there are 2 possibilities:
a) your limit switch for closing is too low and the closer detects the motor stall as the floor is reached, then opens in case it's a kid under the door.
b) your tracks and garage door are mis-aligned, causing excessive force to trigger the reversal. Make sure the door closes easily by hand.

The down adjustment broke off

Check the micro switch that will be activated when the door reaches the closed position. It might need to be readjusted as it is supposed to be activated just as the door reaches the fully closed position to stop the further movement of the door. If it does not get activated at that point the door will try to open further but sence an "obstruction" and start opening again as a buildt in safety measure for protection against possible injury or damage to property.

My garage door when closing goes down to about 1 foot from floor then goes back up. There is no obstruction. It will not go down to floor and stay down. HELP

There might not be an obstruction, but the opener THINKS there's an obstruction.
Check that there is nothing between the lenses of the two sensors. Even a spider web can trigger the safety.
If there is truly NOTHING obstructing the sensors' view of each other, then you should carefully re-align the sensors.
Also, make sure that all the screws and bolts on the rails are good and tight. As the door is used, bolts can loosen, which makes the rails start to vibrate and rattle during the door's movement. Eventually, all this vibration can make the sensors lose alignment.

Garage door goes up fine but when you press to come down it goes down one foot, seems like it hits something and returns.

There is a sensor which checks for obstructions, are you sure there is nothing impeding drive path?Inspect the drive path carefully. If it reaches a part of the drive path which causes it to slip or stick slightly this will tell it not to continue. Also but less likely have you checked that the optical sensor is clean and aligned. Make sure there is nothing blocking the optics.

If your springs were sprung it would not be that easy to open. The reason it crashes down is because they have the door balanced good for the door opener.Check on the door opener itself and see where the reset button is.Maybe something was obstructing to not let it open..Look for the reset and that should get you going on the door opening and closing.Just going to have to figure it out why it did that..

Pressing remotes the door won't go u[

It sounds like you have the lock enguaged. When it is flashing it locks out all remote access. Hold the lock button for 3 seconds. The green light should go solid. On the issue of closing, it is most likely a safety eye issue. Hold down the wall button. If it closes it is the safety eyes. Holding the button overrides the safety eyes. Make sure that thelight on both eyes are both lit.

Garage door opened, won't close

If you can press and hold the wall button and the door will go down, you have a photo eye issue. Check the photo eyes at the bottom of the door.
