SOURCE: Over exposure of pictures in daylight or bright conditions

It happened also to me -the problem is caused by a broken flat cable, which is connecting aperture/shutter coils from inside of the lenses to controller board - it is poorly manufactured probably too short (extra stress at endo of zoom). I tried to repair it - by soldering to repair damaged part, see some photos there:

Be carreful when trying the same, not forget to discarge flash capacitor and document all the taken-off parts to be able to assemble everthing back.

This sounds like a defective Sony CCD issue. If so, Sony will fix your Minolta camera for free (with free shipping) regardless of warranty. You need to do this before March 31, 2008 so get going! See this link:

The Dimage models that Sony is accepting for the recall repair are:
Dimage 7HI, 7I, A1, Xi, F300, XT, X20, S414.

Most likely you received this message after a toner was replaced. Reseat the cartridge and restart the printer. If that doesn't work remove all of the toner cartridges manually and reinstall.

Turn off the printer and open the top cover. Follow the toner cartridge all the way to the right side of the printer (on the white part). You should see a hole that looks like a cross. Take a pen or key and push down on the black button in that hole. While you are holding it down rotate the toner cartridge towards you. You want to get the colored roller on the cartridge about 1/2in away from the metal bar that says "consumable reorder". You should be in a position to take out the toner. Let go of the hole and remove the cartridge. Repeat the steps until all of the cartridges have been removed.

Turn the printer back on at this point. You are going to get toner not installed messages on the printer. Open the top cover and the cyan tray will be in place. Shake the toner and install. Close the cover and let it cycle to the next color (black). Repeat the process until all cartridges are installed.

If you are still getting the error you either have a bad cartridge or the carousel that the toners sit in is damaged.

My digital G400 minolta fall in a short distance, the lense moves out but no photo appears? what I do?

From the description the shutter is not working, in order to address this the lens must be taken apart to see if it can be salvaged, and there is the matter of a dimmed screen. My sense is replace the camera with a new one, cost to repair will be high something to consider when a camera specialist checks it out.

Minolta dimage g400 camera...cannot get the lens to close

Your problem is likely due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may require professional repair.

Lack of image

There is a known problem with the 7D and some early 5D's where sometimes when you turn the camera on and take a picture it is all black and the camera locks up. You can turn it off and back on and the problem goes away for awhile. Don't know if this is what ou are experiencing. If it is, Sony (who bought out Konica Minolta's camera division) will fix the problem for free. Just had this repaired on my 7D.

Dimage G400 white pictures

I have experienced the same issue after approximately 4 years of use. Photos taken outside appear white while ones taken inside or in low light have lines accross it.
I contacted the authorised repairers in Australia and was advised that the lens apeture has broken and that the required part is not longer available. Even when the part was available it cost $300 to fix so it was never economical to get it repaired. The camera can now not be used.

Sounds like a major problem and not one which could be tackled on line. If your camera is still under warranty, return it quickly. If not I hope you have deep pockets. You are suffering from either a faulty iris control or faulty video board. With perhaps a little CCD problem to help things along.
