Question about Whirlpool LEN2000PW Dryer

1 Answer

My dryer stopped heating up so I tried to fix the heating element. I noticed in the other one that some of the coiles broke in half so I knew this was the problem. Well I bought a new one, hooked it up and ran the dryer. It worked for about 30 seconds with heat coming out and the coils glowing but then it started to spark. Do you think I hooked it up wrong, maybe a defective element, or could there be something else wring with my dryer?? It is a whirlpool electric model len2000pw0

Could be a defective element, but it also could be your thermostats faulty...give them a check.
Normally you can only hook up the heating coils one way...I do not believe that would be the problem.
Hope this helps

How do i fix a duet dryer that takes too long to dry

I pulled apart the back of my dryer to access the heating element. I noticed I have a break in one of the coils. So, that means I need to buy a new one. The thing I noticed is that only of of the terminals at the bottom of the heating element has a plug on it. There are no additional wires inside the dryer that could have come off so I am a little confused as to if i new coil will work.
I watched a video online and it clear shows both terminals being connected. Anyone have any advice?

Our Kenmore elite dryer has no heat, what do I do?

The First thing I would do is look at the heating element, you must unplug the dryer and remove the screwsfrom the back of the dryer and then locate the element and inspect it for being broke, if any of the coil of the element is broken you must order a new element.

Electric dryer won't heat, maybe the heating element but before it stopped heating i cleaned the lint trap and something fell into it and i didn't notice and turned it on and could hear it hiting...

Sounds like you broke the heating element. Go to a local shop and get one. You may have also burnt the timer so after element you may need a new timer as it tells it to put power to it.

Drying is not heating up.

try replacing thermal fuse. its cheaper than the heater element. this fuse blows when there is restricted air flow over the heating element. meaning clogged vent. you can ohm out this fuse. fuse is located at top left of heater duct with two wire leads going towards it. if its ok then remove heating element and look at coils. usually you can see one broke

Make sure you have got it set to full heat and not half heat, you may have a faulty heat selector switch.
