Several times each day my mouse on my laptop (Dell Lattitude E5510) becomes unresponsive. I can then use the touch pad to restore my control or the mouse works if I switch USB ports. It doesn't se

Some mouses stop responding if you do not use it for a few minutes. This is usually a battery saving feature. Usually all you got to do is use the scroll button to reactivate the mouse by scrolling up or down. This will bring the mouse back to life. When you change the ports you are actually doing the same thing (reactivating). Also check whether battery needs changing.

Hello, if your touch pad is diabled you need to enble it from VAIO Control Center. You need connect a external mouse in order to follow the steps easily: Click Start, All Programs, and VAIO Control Center. From there you need look for Touch Pad > enable it.

I'm using a Sony Vaio (FW, I think), and my touchpad won't let me scroll anymore. It sucks cause I got an email from Apple that told me to go in and shut off some settings to try and get a download to...

You can disable/enable the touch pad while a mouse is connected to your computer. To change the touch pad settings, use the VAIO Control Center.
!
Be sure to connect a mouse before disabling the touch pad. If you disable the touch pad before connecting a mouse, you will be able to use only the
keyboard for pointer operations

Sony vaio touch pad not working.

My Vaio touchpad started behaving strange. I could move the curser, but no response on left or right click or double tap. Also found that in any search field or user name fields, the computer would just type endless 9's. My wireless mouse could operate the left and right click buttons, but not move the curser. A suggestion to get the mousepad operating again was to touch any key on the keyboard. This allowed it to function again. Final solution was to remove the battery, then hold down the start key for about a minute, reinsert the battery and start it up. It seems to have resolved the problem. I have a 3 month only laptop with Windows 7 already installed. Hope this helps.
