Software pc speaker problem

My PC speaker doesn't produce any sound even if i used earphones. However, it does work if i logged onto the administrator account. So, I assume it's the software that has problems...? Is there any way I can fix it without having to format my computer?

Check audio drivers, also check whether or not "windows audio" service is running or not from running services.msc from run dialog box.

Create another user with administrator rights, logon to it, and check the sound.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Well in this case you need to include also the infomation of your computer like brand , model and Operating system because the problem is not with the headset. Otherwise you can check the settings right through Control Panel - Sound then Playback and Recording configuration

Laptop sound works when using earphones, but speaker suddenly doesn't work without earphones. Have we accidentally pushed a button or something?

When you plug in headphones, very often they get accepted automatically and the sound port changes in the OS accordingly as well. But when you unplug them again, it happens quite often that the OS is not switching it over on its own (even still happens in win 7). Just go into the volume mixer panel/options and change the output back to the port of your speakers.

I have no sound on my HP Pavillion laptop

I had the same problem, but now its solved!

Brieftly speaking, my internal speaker stopped producing sound, but when I plug earphones in, there is sound in the earphones.

Just plug in-and-out ur earphones several times (it took me 5 tries) and voila internal speakers work again!

I think there is a mechanical sensor inside the sound output (plug for the earphone) so that once it senses a plug getting in, it shuts internal speaker.

Maybe the mechanical sensor was jammed (spring problem i guess) and it still believe that u have ur earphones plugged-in. "Clogging" the hole for the earphones would allow the spring to spring back to initial position...

Hope it helps

Speaker no sound

In the socket where you plug in the external earphone are bending contacts, which also switch of the speaker when you are using an earphone. Try either putting in the jack and wobbling and twisting it, or tapping the corner with your knuckle.

IN EITHER CASE - BE GENTLE

That will knock of the dirt and the switch will work again

I can't get the world poker championship to install on my computer I have windows xp and I don't understand the part about administrator rights account

Im assuming your account doesn't have administrator rights and that your being asked to supply an account with Administrator credentials yes?

if so ask the person who usually installs software on your pc if they could install it for you , otherwise there is no other way unless you can get them to also create you an administrator account , then you would have no problems installing new things on the PC.

When you are logging onto your own account under Windows XP it sounds like you have been supplied with a "Limited Account" meaning you can't do things like install new software to the PC , you can't create new accounts when using a limited account so there is no way you could give your self a "Administrator Account".

The only other solution that i have for you is when you get to the logon screen press alt + ctrl + delete it shold hopefully bring up the administrator account , for the password try it blank or even try admin or administrator or password , but if there is a password on there it's probably because they dont want you to gain that sort of access.

Goodluck !

Thanks
