Installing a 160Gig HDD in my A135-S4666

I have just browsed over toshibadirect and saw HDDs, i.e. Part#HDDR160I02X for a 160Gig HDD. Can I buy one and have it replaced the 80Gig installed in my A135?

First confirm with the laptp vendor becaus the bios may not support a 160 gb HDD.Istead you can use the drive as external disk.

Toshiba should have drivers for all their equipment on their website. Typically under customer service or downloads.

I need to upgrade my internal hard drive, what exactly do I need to get the most storage for my Toshiba Notebook Satellite A135-S4666? I would like to have 500gb or more of storage.

There are two kinds of hard drives and you must learn which one your computer has. To do this, Turn the computer off, diconnect the power chord and remove the battery. Locate and remove your present hard drive.

If the connection end of the drive has two plastic covered connection locations, you have a SATA drive.

If the connection end has more than 40 pins, you have an IDE drive. There is no way you can confuse the two types.

Go to your favourite computer parts source (ebay, web store or real store) and buy the largest drive that they have and that you can afford. Install the drive and install your favourite Operating System.

The largest IDE drive is 320 GB and the largest SATA drives I've seen are 500 GB. Best of good computing with your new drive.

External HDD

The answers are maybe, and yes.

If your internal hard drive is nearly full then adding an external hdd and transfering some of the files to it will free up space on your internal hdd and potentially improve performance.

You can install programs and store files on the external hdd. Obviously it will need to be connected in order to run these programs and access the files.
