I need a diagram for an indirect hot water system heated by a solid fuel boiler and an oil boiler

If you are using more than one heat source you will have 1 more pump than the heat source pumps Main pump = SYSTEM pump pumps through the indirect hot water system and back into itself. This is the system loop. The other two boilers tee into this loop upstream of the indirect tank, downstream of the SYSTEM pump. The cold water return to each boiler tees into the system loop next to and upstream of where the hot water for that boiler tees into the system the loop. The oil boiler will have its own pump on its return line from the sytem loop and the solid fuel boiler will have its own pump. When any boiler fires, it turns on its own pump AND the system pump. If you want a drawing email me -pipesster@gmail.com send a fax number and I'll fax you a drawing.

Heatslave diverter valve

clicking rads are due to pipe expansion when getting hot.
If the hot water [secondary circuit] gets hot and the boiler stays on [does not keep going on and off] even with a constant low water flow then the diverter should be ok.
there is a valve to prevent the primary circuit [central heating] [ CH] from sending water to the rads. this or its control may be at fault.
both the
Both the CH pipes to & from the boiler should have manual valves to turn off. do this then try the hot tap-full on. If the boiler goes into overheat mode and the overheat stat kicks in to turn the boiler off -- then :-
Check also the heat exchanger, it may be furred up especially if you are in a hard water area. It means taking it off and manually checking [pour water through] If you're lucky it will be just muck to be forced out with hose pipe pressure, if not a new one

The usual problem with the hot water fault you have is that the domestic hot water diaphragm needs replacing, they usually last 2 to 3 years, if you haven't had the boiler serviced on a regular yearly basis then you will need it serviced and the fault repaired by a corgi registered engineer.

Water gets hot then turns cold and runs cold then hot again

Secondary heat exchanger is blocked on sealed system side.
Remove and de-scale heat exchanger or fit new one.

I want to take a sink unit out. This means I have to turn off the cold water mains and hot water. I have a Worcester combi boiler and am not sure how to turn off the direct hot water . Can you help

Under the sink itself there should be shut-offs. To turn off the water to your boiler, first turn the power off to it at the breaker box. Then on the boiler itself, there will be some valves. One of the valves will be located in the copper line that comes from your water meter. Turn that one off. If you want to turn off the water to the whole house, right next to the water meter there should be a valve. Turn it off and open all faucets to ensure the water is off. Reverse this procedure when establishing water pressure again.
