SOURCE: Cover tab broken on Lexmark X3470

Have you recovered the tab? All the tab does is interrupt a sensor beam between 2 points. Either glue it back on (epoxy or super glue, use sparingly on one side then apply and hold down until it sets, about a min. or tape a popsicle stick into the area where the tab rested. First feel around with the stick in the area until the printer responds. then fix it there.

SOURCE: changed color cartridge and getting error

I had the same problem with my X8300 printer. As the printer was less than a year old Lexmark sent me a new printer. I will keep this printer until it to goes wrong and then buy another brand. Lexmark - cheap and nasty, I am afraid.

I just put in new ink cartridges. It scans fine but will not print from my computer

Hi Karen:
If it worked before you installed this cartridge, there are 3 possibles that I would check.
1) The new cartridge is defective
2) The new cartridge is not installed correctly
3) The pull tab that covers the ink ports was not removed before the cartridge was installed.

Having trouble removing ink cartridge on hp e709n printer

Hello Sandi,

According to the product information you provided in your post, the following information should be able to provide you with the information needed to help you remove and replace the ink cartridges for your printer.

Ink Cartridge Removal Steps:

Keep your printer plugged in and on during this process.

1. Open the cartridge access door. The carriage moves to the center of the product. Wait until the carriage stops moving before proceeding.

2. Each ink cartridge will have plastic tabs located directly in front of them. Press in the tab on the front of one of the cartridges, and then pull it out and up to remove it from its slot. Once you have pressed the tab, you then pull up and out on the cartridge and it should come out easily.

Illustration of process:

3. Repeat this step to remove all cartridges from their slots. Remember that each ink cartridge will have to be removed individually if your printer has more than one cartridge.

Replacing the cartridge with the new one:

1. Remove the ink cartridge from the packaging and then remove the protective covering.

2. Hold the ink cartridge in the same position as you removed the old ones. Push in and then down on the new ink cartridge which should lock them into position with the tabs automatically and you will you will usually hear a clicking noise when this is done.

3. Close the cartridge access door. The printer will automatically reposition the cartridge print head assembly for you.

This should complete the process and you should now be able to print. Some printer will ask or recommend that you print a test page so that it can calibrate the desired ink usage, position, darkness, etc. If this appears on your screen just follow the directions as prompted to complete the test page.

I hope this provides you with a bit more clarity for removing and reinstalling your printer ink cartridges. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask. Have a good day.

I have an Epson CX4800 printer. I have changed all the ink cartridges, but still can not get it to print, it goes through the motions, but nothing prints on the paper.

Try cleaning the heads. This should get the printer cartidges unclogged so the ink comes out. Also are you using epson cartridges or generic. How old are they. If new or quality generic. Its probably the head needs to be cleaned go through that process 2 or 3 times as its much cheaper than new cartridges.
