Hey agent perry, your computers might be B.S.O.D 'ing. try pressing F8 during startup, you see the safemode meun, choose to diable automatic restart opon system failure. that should give you an error code and a Bule Screen Of Death, and google search that code number like 0x0000007b, and that should give you the cause of the problem, most likey it sounds like a hard driver issue, good luck!

nah, windows knows the difference, try also using the command

"sfc /scannow" from the recovery console, although if you used the cds that came with your computer to reinstall windows, and chose to do a complete recovery, you may have done just that, reinstalled windows, and all you had is gone. Good Luck

Choose the windows normal node and let it sit for a long time, it will take a while but should come up, if this does not work shut down compuer, unplug it, let sit 20 sec. turn computer back on and hit the esc key, as soon as the computer starts. choose and save bois, and restart computer. this should work.

Hi.

If she did not format the hard disk, then the Windows XP startup option will be present in boot option. When computer startup you will get a choice like this:

1 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Edition.
2 Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2

In that case you can restore XP, starting on XP and editing the file winboot.ini, that is an hidden system file located on C:/ drive.

See:How to edit the Boot.ini file in Windows XP.

If instead Windows XP does not start, or if you do not get the boot option, that means that Windows XP system file had been deleted.

In that case the only way to get back Windows XP is reinstalling the system from scrap, using a Windows XP install disk, and the number listed on the licence sticker.

Regards.

Windows xp home edition service pack 2

Legally, well purchase the software. But if you do that I wouldn't buy Xp Home Edition I would go with XP Pro.

On the other end of things check piratebay.com or other torrent sites. You may be able to find just the product key or a version where you do not need one or that comes cracked.

Hope that helps.
