My wife's "OLD" New Home sewing machine needs a circuit board...

According to sew & Vac, my New Home Memory Craft 8000 needs a zig zag step Motor. Can anyone get me the part or sell their machine, cheaply?

You can search for online sewing machine parts vendors or look for a used machine for sale, ie eBay. Even a local sewing machine repair service may be able to get it for you.

BTW, some of these older mechanical machines are the best...

Where will I find a new circuit board in the UK, for my 30yrs+ machine & a specialist repair man. Tried A1 sewing machines but they haven't got one.

Have your authorized Viking dealer procure a replacement board from Viking or perhaps get a board from a used machine that another dealer might have. Failing both options above, purchase a newer Viking sewing machine.

Have Viking 990 and feed dogs not working. Local repair man kept for over a month and then said it was the circuit board and that Viking no longer making circuit board for 990-- or, that machine can't be...

Is it that the feed dogs won't go up and down, or that you can't adjust the stitch length? If the feed dogs won't go up and down after you have released the feed dog button and cycled the handwheel one revolution, than there is a mechanical adjustment needed. I the stitch length can't be ajdusted, that It's either a circuit board of a step motor problem. The repair shop should be able to tell you that they swaped the feed motor with the zig zag motor to test this issue.

If, you turned the machine hand wheel away from you, you mess up the timing and I suspect that is the problem. If, I were you instead of investing another dime in the old machine, look into a new one from a place that gives lessons, I picked up a terrific one at JoAnn Fabrics, a Singer 7258 Stylist, for $199 and got a free lesson on it. It makes my $1000, Kenmore seem like an old truck and can do way more without having to adjust everything in sight . Good luck to you and your daughter.

What is err code F04

It most likely is your foot pedal. Unplug your foot pedal and start the machine without it. If it works properly without the foot pedal plugged in then your foot pedal needs repaired or replaced. This worked for us with the NX400 machine and I am sure the NX450 is closely similar. Don't bother to buy a Manual if you didn't already get one with the machine. A Service manual and parts manual is best; But just so you know they don't show the error codes unless you are a qualified and authorized repair person for the machines. I got my info from the repair man where my wife buys and repairs her machines. I am an electronic technician and mechanic so I understand how this system works. I will be repairing my wife's machines from now on.

There are three circuit boards in the 7500. You should be able to get the correct board from any Janome dealer and if you need help installing it, I can help. It's very simple.

I had not used my New Home Memory Craft for some

The old oil and lubricants are most likely in some stage of solidification and caused the machine to labor to turn. This causes the safety fuse to blow so that the circuit board does not overload.

Replacing the fuse is buried deep within one for the circuit boards and requires a knowledgeable service person to extract it and also address the reason the fuse blew in the first place so that it doesn't happen again.

The threads are no longer looping

To thread the overlock you start with the inner most looper first, then the outer looper, then the inner most vertical needle and then the outer. This is the order: | | | | #4 #3 #1 #2 You have to ensure that the lower looper (the furthest one out) has the thread going over the slightly higher looper, the first one you did. If you do this you will be making a stitch. To make the loops fall close to the material is simply a case of altering the tensions on all the needles - I have to do this with my wifes machine. Once I have the tensions for her machine I'll be able to pass them on to you although every machine is different it may give you a starting point. I will try and perform this task this weekend - I'll be online next week and perhaps we can chat and I can send you our tension levels. I hope this helps.. my wife sews and I re-thread - she won't go near the inside of the machine and I won't try to sew :) BXL830
