Question about Freezers

Frost-free fridge-freezer; internal floor icing up

LG GR 469BSRA frost-free fridge-freezer;
internal floor of freezer icing-up.
3 1/2 years old problem only in last 6 months.
Have now disconnected F/F, all internal visible ice melted&removed. Should I expect 'hidden ice', between internal & external casings, to melt out onto floor in next 24-48 hours?
Without removing internal & external plates can't inspect to see if trunking to compressor has blockage.
Where would I find the compressor on this model?
After a thorough defrost, should the F/F be as good as new, in that it will take another 2-3 years before I have icing problms again?

OR should I not attempt DIY & get a local engineer, LG aren't able to do anything for free as I didn't opt to take out a 5 year costly maintanence insurance at time of purchase (I've still got a Scandinova F/F 25< years old, still going strong in the garage. ' based my decision not to buy maintanence insurance on it's brilliant performance. Next time I buy a F/F I won't buy frost-free!) LG are costly to call out as I live far from any city.

Drain plug and or line probably plugged should be clear if ice was problem in between the casing shouldnt be a problem let unit run normal and check temp the amount of high humidity and usage [open and closing of doors] has caused a lot of frost free and regular units to frost and or ice up

Hello, The drain behind the back panel in the freezer is frozen or blocked up. Remove the back panel remove as much ice as possible and pour boiling water in the bottom section under the evaporator. be careful not to touch the aluminum it will cut you or break. you will see the drain hole sometimes it takes a while to thaw all the ice. Hope this helps and please rate me Thank You.

Amana freezer on the bottom not keeping temperature

Hi, If you had ice, there is a drain plugged in the freezer. If you had a frost build up, there is a problem with the automatic defrost.

I can help in either case. Please let me know if you need more assistance.

BEKO Frost free freezer not as cold as it should be!

Sorry I don't have a solution for you, however would like to know if you found out what was wrong. I have an identical problem with my Beko fridge/freezer. It's only 14 months old and the freezer just wont freeze. I've turn it off for 24 hour and let it defrost completely (even had the panel off to make sure there was no ice left). I've turned it back on again and it still wont freeze. Everything seems ok, ie fan blowing, motor running etc. I really am beginning to regret buying Beko. thanks

LG frost free fridge freezer GR-359sq

defrost drain is blocked - probably with ice. take the back panel off inside the freezer and melt the ice off with a hairdryer then follow up with hot water till it flows away freely. this takes some patience. if fault reoccurs then get back to me

Frost buildup in frost free freezer

There is a defroster built into the ice maker to melt the ice a little around the edges before dispensing on most ice makers it may need replacing.
