No you cannot restore them......u must do new installations for those programs....as they had their files on the old windows and not the new one

Change boot order for toshiba g20

You have to format your hard drive using a third party disc to erase everything on your hard drive

Restart your computer during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS then using the arrow keys scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

Note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

Note after you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to failsafe or optimised defaults
after windows has loaded

your computer will automatically restart it might restart 2 times one to finish the installation
the next will be because the operating system is loaded and will boot from your cd

Hope this helps.

How do i format it to how it was when i got it

If you still have the disk for your OS then the process is fairly simple. Insert the disc and reboot the computer. While the computer is booting hold down ESC or possibly F2, F8, or F12. A boot menu should open up before your operating system begins to load and you should pick to boot from CD Drive. When the setup loads, go through the menus until you get to the section of where to install the OS. Delete all the partitions on your computer and then reinstall the OS on the new one. This will delete everything on your laptop and just have a clean copy of your OS.

If you don't have the original CD you can download and burn this onto a CD and boot it from CD. This will securely wipe your hard drive.

Use a floppy disk or USB memory key to create a password reset disk using the following Microsoft instructions: How to Create a Password Reset Disk

The easiest way to recover from a lost password situation is to use a password reset diskextlink.gif. If you have a reset disk, follow these steps:
  1. At the Windows logon screen, click Reset password.

  2. Insert the recovery diskette or USB key.

  3. Follow the instructions on-screen to create a new password.

  4. Log onto the account using your new password.
new_note.jpg Note: Password reset disks are valid for the account they were created on. If you use a password reset disk to recover your password, you do not need to create a new reset disk afterwards.
Issue 3: Resolve Error: The User Profile Service Failed the Logon

The following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article provides instructions on how to resolve The User Profile Service Failed the Logon. User profile cannot be loaded error.
"Error message when you log on to a Windows Vista-based computer by using a temporary profile: "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded"extlink.gif Article ID: 947215.
Issue 4: If You do not have a Password Reset Disk

If you have lost or forgotten your password, and a password reset disk is not available, reinstalling the operating system is the only recourse. For information on reinstalling Windows, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article, How To Restore or Reinstall Microsoft® Windows® on a Dell™ Computer

My advice is to spend $50 and buy a brand-new disk-drive (probably 2 or 3 times as large as your current), and install Windows onto that disk.

OS Wont load

You need to reinstall operative system, either using recovery disk, or using a generic windows setup disk.
If the computer does not read recovery disk, then it is probably scratched or faulty.
System reinstall is usually done at any computer repair shop for a not too expensive fee.
When hard disk is damaged you often also hear a typical clicking noise, and system stop shortly after post.

Problem with transfering images onto my Windows 98

you might have to remove the driver in safe mode of windows 98.

then reinstall the drivers for the camera after removal.

also look in the control panel for add/remove program and look for your camera drivers

if they are there remove them, and reinstall the drivers.

also there are some computer where the usb port could be failing, try the camera on another computer, but i really would suggest a card reader for camera, since it take away the wear and tear of the camera by hooking it up and turning it on for transferring the files. i just use a card reader, and just used the camera to take pictures.

I have the Windows 98 disk not have lost the key codes, I am trying to reinstall this onto a new hard drive with no operating system so I can then upgrade to windows xp, help anyone?

You don't need a windows 98 disk to install XP. It will load directly from your Cd drive. You have to set the bios to be the first boot disk. It is much easier to install XP on an empty drive than to upgrade.
