My sansa needs formating but doesnt want to format

Why does your mp3 have to formate? Any error? or the internal memoy is corrupted? If it is, I am afraid that you have to fix it by formatting. And I think that you do not want to formate it because something important must be in the mp3, and you can make a backup before formatting, anyway, you can recover data from mp3 by some recovery software after formatting if you can not make a backup. My mp3 says file format error when I try to listen to the music.

It's possible that the file type of the music file(s) you are trying to listen to are not a supported format of your mp3 player. Your player only supports MP3 and WMA audio formats. You should check the music files you are tying to play to confirm they are of a compatible format.

Cant get it to play files

Hi,

Getting it to play files all depends on the kind of mp3 you talking about and the kind of format that the mp3 can play.

First check if it is just an normal mp3 player. Normal mp3 player they play mp3 files(audio files), while other type might play other formats like wave formats, aac format, etc.

After checking, if it is not a normal mp3player, you can get a converter to change the format at which it can player with.

Note:

Make sure you check the right format of the player to be sure of the format you are going to you, if not when you put a different format it will not play.

Have a nice day.

What do you mean by formatting mp3 player?in general what does formatting means?

Formating your MP3 player means to remove all songs/pictures/etc from your player.
Just be really careful when you format that you do not delete the files needed to make your MP3 player function.
Also format means the type of music, pictures, video's your player will recognize as in jpg,acc,mp4,etc.

Format error

Take note that if you have reformatted your drive all file inside were lost. Basically mp3 players can play only mp3 format. If the format of your songs inputted to your mp3 player are not the same with the format required to your player nothing should be happen to play.

If the required of your player is mp3 so you need to put only mp3 format. No other format should be played. If your download songs are wma format convert it to mp3 format.

Try delete everything in the MP3 that isn't .mp3 format, if this doesn't work then you can try to download a program that will format it.

How to format philips gogear mp3 player?

I wouldn't format it. If you are having problems, run a Repair in Philips Device Manager. If you are getting format errors, then the songs you are trying to load are not compatible with the player - if you download songs that are in true mp3 format, then you will not get any format errors.

How can I format the mp3 player?

Windows only formats in fat32 or ntfs, only Win95 or 98 formats in fat, so you may have to go to the manufacturer web site and look for a formatting programme. Otherwise, there may be a factory reset or similair on the mp3 player, select this and everyting should be deleted.
