Sounds like an inverter transformer humming, not producing enough current to display a bright picture. Check the caps in power supply, next to the plug where it says 24v and goes to the inverter board on the left side of tv. Or check for bad connections on inverter transformers on inverter board, Thanks
Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.

You are getting off cheap considering that this hum may be from the IHVT, hopefully the hum is not for that component. Since you have no picture and no sound that denotes a power supply probme which can be anything from a blown fuse to a bad IHVT or the horizontal output transistor. $180.00 is about right.
