Question about Dell Inspiron 1200 Notebook

1 Answer

My husband cannot access his comcast email at work. Everytime he does, it says cannot access web page. It does let him get on the internet, go to different sites; but just not get his comcast email. Any idea what to do? I had him clean his cache, delete cookies/internet files and such; restore to an earlier time - and still no good. Any ideas?

Hi,
Just a comment... I work for a company that allows internet but has server filtration to limit access to certain websites. You didn't mention if your husband was employed or is the employer, so I thought I'd mention it for what it's worth...
God bless

Can't open my e-mail at comcast.net

Try this: sign on to the home page at http://www.comcast.net

Then in the browser address bar enter mailcenter.comcast.net then click on Go or hit Enter. If the web mail page opens this almost certainly indicates a pop up blocker was preventing the web mail page from opening when you clicked on the email button.

You should be able to configure the pop up blocker to allow all comcast.net web pages.

Hello, i downloaded mozilla firefox as my internet browser because i was having problems with comcast opening slower. i cannot open my email . how do i get my email to work from comcast with mozilla

You need to enter the URL (internet address) for your Comcast email into your firefox browser. Open your email in internet explorer and take note of what address is listed at the top of the window. Use this in your Firefox browser.

Does this only happen when you try to access a page from 'www.comcast.net' ?

Within Internet Explorer, click Tools.
Click Internet Options.
Under the "Browsing History" section, click Delete,
to remove any "temporary" files.
Then, try again to access COMCAST's web-site.

TODAY everytime I try to open an email in my Yahoo.com account, it goes to youcansearch, com without opening the mail??

Close Internet Explorer
Click Start
Click All Programs
Click Accessories
Click System Tools
Click "Start Internet Explorer (no add-ons)"
Access Yahoo, and check your E-mail.
If it works, then one of the "add-on" programs is "hijacking" your web-browser.

Or, you've got a computer-virus on your computer.

It has changed the file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS

to access 'youcansearch' (by IP-address) when you try to access the Yahoo web-site.

Comcast home page is stuck on August 25th. Cannot sign out,

I am not sure if I understand your problem correctly or not. How I am understanding this is that your dialup will not refresh or work on comcast's homepage. Thus not allowing you to logon to your email account. But your dialup will work on other parts of the net.

If this is the problem:
First, clear your internet cache. If that doesn't work, then try using a different browser. If you are using Internet Explorer, try using Firefox...it is free.

If your comcast account is not assessable from any computer, you need to call comcast tech support and see if there is a problem with your account.

Can't access my comcast e-mail.

Did you try adding an additional email account?, I have comcast. You may have lost the settings for your POP3 account. Go into outlook if that is what you are using and check the settings. The settings may have been changed .If nothing works, delete the account, and start from scratch, on your comcast home page it will give you the settings to use for the incoming and outgoing mail servers. If that dosen't work let me know, It may be some kind or malware or other junk that one encounters on the internet.
