Question about Canon PowerShot A630 Digital Camera
Our camera is over 12 months old and has been working beautifully until recently. It now gives a memory card error when we turn it on. We've tried several new memory card (different brands) with no success. We've also tried reformatting the cards we've been using for months...again, no success. I've seen several comments on the internet about this problem, but haven't seen a solution posted yet. Thanks for any help you can offer...don't want to give up on it yet, it's been a great camera up until this point.
1. Try gently blowing clean air into the memory card slot. It's possible a bit of lint or dirt is on the contacts and needs to be removed. A can of compressed air will work for this.
2. (More advanced) If possible use a q-tip to gently rub the contacts for the memory card inside the camera. Again, you're trying to clean the contacts.
If neither works you'll have to consider bringing or sending your camera in for service. It's possible that it needs to be opened up for service and I don't recommend that you do that yourself.
