Camera will load fine the first time when I just turn on the laptop, but after that, it will say "Graph Render Fail", and it will not let me load it up until I restart the computer.

I have the same problem. My webcam for my Gateway Laptop worked great with the first use. The next time I went ot open it, the "Graph Render Fail" message appears in the window instead of the view finder image. No one has a solution? The webcam was pre-installed and did not come with a disc to install/reinstall. If you have any ideas for a solution, we'd love to try it. Thanks in advance.

It says that the acer 5534 comes with a built in webcam. I do not know how to activate it. And no im not stupid. I work for microsoft. Please help. Sorry for spelling.

I am glad to HELP YOU!

Go START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACER CRYSTAL EYE WEBCAM and select it. Click on ACER CRYSTAL EYE WEBCAM and that should activate the webcam.
Once the webcam is active you will see an icon displayed in the TASKBAR.

Anyway, using any communication/chat/social software like Yahoo!Messenger or Skype or whatever that requires a webcam connection it will open automatically once the video conversation is on.

GOOD LUCK!

I got this computer about a month ago and I can not figure out how to use the webcam

On my Gateway laptop I have a small icon at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I click on it and Hey Presto, webcam operational. Maybe yours has something like that. Good luck.

I have a gateway laptop with built in webcam but can't figure out how to turn it on. Any suggestions?

try locating it in "All Programs" in Vista. If it is not found in Acessorries or extras, then check whether it is installed in "Control Panel->System->Device Manager".If it is installed, then when you switch on any webcam program or IM,clicking webcam/video chat will switch it ON.

Well my laptop is advent and i have a built in webcam , its kind of broke but im looking to go on msn messanger to go on video calls with them and it wont let me because its broke so can you help me ?

If the webcam is broken, then if your laptop is under warranty period have it replaced.
If not then you will have to buy a usb webcam.
Broken Webcam for laptops are preety hard to fix at home. They might get fix at service stations.
Sorry mate not much of help here.

TECHNICAL PROBLEM WITH MY WEBCAM.

You've got graphic rendering problem bcos, the webcam drivers installed in your laptop don't work correctly. ie) the driver installed forces your webcam to take a snapshot at a resolution that is not supported by the webcam hardware...So, tell me ur laptop model number and I'll let u know abt the drivers....
