My thermostat for electric baseboard is a double pole Honeywell that turns the heater on no matter what temp.you set it on

Suspect that the thermostat is defective. The link to the manual is included. You should feel the click as you rotate the knob at or near the room ambient temperature cycling the power on and off.

Hope this Helps?

Make : Weil-McLain Model : CG-5-SPDN Series 12 I have the above mentioned boiler which is located on the 1st level of a three story one family house, the area where the boiler is located is insulated.

You don't have an optimum distribution of steam in your house. Try closing a little bit the valves supplying the heaters in the lower floors. Close a little bit more until you get the desired balance.

Am going away and would like to know what level to turn the radiators down to, on the westtherm radiator valves it goes from * to 1 - 5.. Would the * setting be okay?

I assume you want to save on heating costs and at the same time keep the pipes from freezing in your absence. 50 degrees is the normal temperature you want to maintain in this case. However, I am unable to tell you exactly which setting would maintain that temperature. So try closing the door to one room that you infrequently use, put a thermometer in that room and turn the radiator down to the first setting. After several hours, check the room temp. If it's 50 degrees, you've got it right. If it's below 50, turn it up a notch and check it again in an hour. Remember, night time air temperatures are generally colder than daytime temps.

Honeywell Chronotherm III Lowest temperature setting is 45F Any way of getting it lower thanks

If you are successful in setting it lower , you will end up with frozen pipes and large plumbing bills. Since the internal walls of a building can be as much as 20 degrees lower, that the room.
And the location of the thermostat, may be even warmer, that that of the areas where the plumbing is.
Now what is your reason for wanting the thermostat operate at a lower temperature?

No heat in zone with Honeywell rth230B

It is not your thermostat, it is an airbound zone. The gurgly noise you heard was that water and air flowing through the radiator. The zone needs to be purged either at the boiler, or through vents on the radiator. Hope this helps
