Samsung yp-s5 wont show up in computer

You need proper drivers installed in your PC to enable it to recognize the device. If have the driver CD that came with it, then install it else download it from this site

go to my computer icon on desktop !
click right mouse go to proberties --- system or device ---device management --- there you can solve the problem .

dont load crappy software that comes with these things,
windows generic usb storage device drivers works solidly.
just treat it like a flash drive, drag and drop your mp3s into the music folder.
and make sure its charged, i.e. leave it plugged into the computer for al least 30 mins

you need media player 11 or newer
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

it should work fine instantly with media player 11 installed, just plug it in ones the media player is properly installed (you may need to restart, I don't remember for sure)

and it should work right away with wm11.

you need the install cd to install the program (Samsung Media Studio). With it, you can transfer music files into the yp-u3

Found the solution on another site (http://www.everythingusb.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=11238). To quote user AFHavemann :

"* Plug in the player so the USB bus can see it.

* Once it’s recognized (i.e., the device screen reads "Charging" and "USB Disconnected"), go to the Control Panel and click "System"

* Choose "Hardware" then "Device Manager" tab.

* Look for the name of your device under “Portable Devices” in the list

* If the name of your player is under “MTP Device” then the correct drivers are probably loaded

* Right-click on the name of your device and click "Properties"

* Click “Update Driver”"

Then follow the prompts from there. The computer searches for the driver software, etc., and reinstalls/resets information related to the device, which fixed things such that the computer will now recognize the device. I'm not sure what causes the problem, but this solution seems to reset whatever's gone wrong.

or try downloading the firmwire and manually updating your yp - s5

Try formating. Its the only way it'll work.

i have a samsung GT-S5600V ive installed the software for it 'USB cable' and 'Samsung new PC studio' and ive connected my phone to the computer through the USB cable and its not searching for the device it keeps saying 'the device cannot be opened because another program is currently using it.close the program to connect the device.move to search new device' and im gettin really annoyed PLEASE HELP!
