Problem for LG GSA-H55N DVD-RAM Burner

My lg dvd writer read both cd's and dvd's but later it did not

read dvd's and at present it is not reading even cd's and the cd or dvd icon in "my computer" option is not there.but the cd rom software is still installed

if the icon in not showing in the my computer. please check the power cable which is connect to the cd rom in side the cpu . but before doing this GO to your computer BIOS bu pressing DEL,or F10 or F2 depents on system manufacturing. there you see cd and make sure it is not diable .
