Hard Drive doesnt turn on

Your BIOS settings will need to allow the drive.
If your PC cannot accommodate the 1TB drive then you will have to have a 3rd party software to force it or contact Western Digital .
Some mother boards before 2005 are not compatible with a TB drive.
Check *********** board specifications to see if it is compatible with the drive.
Also some hard drive when install have the ribbon cable backwards that is the "red" line is not in line with the number 1 pin on the drive and this will cause the drive not to be read because the voltage is not being detected at pin 1 on the drive.
Check your ribbon cable or sata cable.
Check your power supply connection to the drive also it may not be getting the +12 volts need to spin the drive.

You accidentally flipped the cap over backwards when you were putting the male plug on. If you are using 568B standard that starts with orange/white and ends it brown...make sure that if the orange white is on the left, then the clip on the plug is facing away from you.

Fried HD?

Yep, it's probably fried, a little too much juice went in.
While the drive itself might be ok, the external casing is another story.

Try opening the case and removing the HD and plugging that in on your PC directly as a slave drive.
