You eithe rneed to repace the key switch, check to see if powe remains at the starter(small wire) after it starts.
Or you need to shim the starter. The gears on the starter may be sticking to the drive gear and not releasing once the machine starts

LT1046 cub cadet blown clutch..what caused this with new Pto switchpto switch froze..replaced it still will not engage blades.what could blow the new clutch

Are you sure it's blown? Run two jumper wires from the battery or power side of the starter solenoid and energize the clutch. If it energizes and clicks, that's eliminated. Did you blow any fuses?

Solenoid clicks cub cadet lt1045 mower won't start. Has new solenoid, starter battery and spark plug

It is possible the starter safety circuit is triggering. This is an interlock to prevent injury when starting and checks for things like driver not on seat, park brake engaged, etc.
Refer page 12 of the manual available on this site if you do not have one.

Cub Cadet ZTR will not start

Is the blade engagement off? If that is ok, does the solenoid even click when you put the key to start position? If the solenoid doesn't even click check the battery connections and make sure they are good and clean. If the connections are good, are you sure the new battery is fully charged. If the battery sat around for a long time in the store it could need charged. If all that is good and then you don't get the starter solenoid to click when you put the key in start position, then it is either the seat switch, parking brake switch, handle switches, or mower engage switch keeping it from starting. If all that is ok maybe you have a bad starter solenoid. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

I have a cub cadet 2140 with a onan 140 series motor. The problem is that I can turn over the key and all I get is a clicking noise. I can do this several times before the mower will start. The battery...

The starter solenoid could be going out. This is a piece of the electrical system and if you are not familiar with it then I would take it into the dealer and have them fix it. Otherwise you could be shocked or burned if something went wrong.

Cub cadet 1405, has new battery & starter. cranks over great with plug removed , won' t crank at all with spark plug in. any ideas?

You didn't indicate which engine we are working on, but here are a couple of ideas.
It is possible that the starter is weak. If this is the problem, replace the starter.
It is also possible that the compression release is not working. Try adjusting the valves back to factory specs.
Good Luck!

Cub cadet 1024 wont turn over

try taking an insulated screw driver and jumping across both terminals on the solenoid, if the engine turns over, the solenoid is bad and will need to be replaced
