Check to see if there is a tiny hole on the back of the ipod. That is where you can reset it. ALWAYS use your"safely remove hardware feature to avoid this type of problem. When you don't use that feature, and you disconnect the device from the computer, the drive is still running. By clicking on the "safely remove hardware", you stop the drive BEFORE you remove the device.
