Question about Frigidaire FAP094P1 Portable Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Hi, I have a Frigidaire Model FAP09EP1Z1 and I have the tubing connected to the outside but water is at the base of the unit. The bucket full light is not on but I can not even find the bucket to see if it is full. where is it and how do you get to it. For some reason I can find this solution in the manual George pryg@earthlink.net

Why shouldn't the small tubing that is at the back of the machine that goes out the window empty this bucket and why doesn't the bucket light come on inidicating that this bucket is full. Is there something wrong with the pump that is causing this bucket not to drain properly? Do we have to continually empty this bucket in this maner? Thanks

HI,

Your unit must have connected through water drain hose, which should be connected outside.

First: Inspect for any broken hose connector, if found go to any local hardware and buy replacement and install it with new cap.
If this doesn't work, try emptying the bucket in the following way

The actual bucket is located inside the machine at the bottom. To access it, you must unscrew all of the screws and take the front panel off. You cannot empty it from this side so it is not worth taking the machine apart.
However, in order to empty the bucket, there is a small black plug at the bottom left hand side at the rear of the machine. Be careful when pulling out the plug because the water will immediately drain.

Actually you dont need to empty the bucket regularly, it automatically gets evaporated due to heat poduced by the AC,

But if there is any problem in the drain tube/ if the drain hose is kinked, then you have to empty the bucket manually

Why does Frigidaire dehumidifier send water outside bucket?

Good Afternoon Jean,

I understand that your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DWD, is putting the water that it collects out onto the floor as oppose to the bucket. I suggest contacting the manufacturer for more information. They should be able to point you in the right direction for assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Bucket full light is on, I have drain tube out the window, air won't work. How to fix?

Hi Kathleen King - Typically when the error code P1 displays on panel it indicates that the unit has a sensor error. I would recommend contacting a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the unit.

I am not sure of the exact model number, but the unit is rated for 70 pints. It shutdowns and lights the full bucket lamp, but the bucket is not full (there is a hose attached). I dis-assembled the unit...

The problem is that the hose connection tube that the hose is connected to, is clogged. That's the reason water was going to the bucket and the full bucket sensor was shutting the unit OFF

To unclog the tube, you will need an 18" long Plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO Wire Coat Hangers, though) that is appropriately sized to fit into the hole. Before doing anything, Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit.

Carefully insert the Zip Tie into the hose connection hole/tubing and continue to gently push it in, until it reaches the bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work past this bend, until it bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, slowly remove it, while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. As the Zip Tie is almost totally removed, be prepared for some water to follow.

The above should solve your problem. Will you still need the wiring schematic to reconnect the bucket safety switch? If so, please let me know.

I have a hose discharging water from back . but bucket still fills up. ive checked hose for clogs ive checked pump for proper operation. ive tried to block drip spouts going to bucket that just made water...

The clog is not in the hose. It's in the hose connection tube inside the unit. To unclog it use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar that is flexible and will fit into the hole. NO wire coat hangers though. Gingerly work it into the hose connection hose, until you reach a bend in the tubing. This is the tricky part, as you have to get past this bend. Be careful and work it past the bend. Once the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of Zip Tie, slowly pull it back out while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. Once the Tie is almost all the way out, be prepared for water to follow.

One other thing. If the unit stops operating check that the bucket full light is illuminated. If it is remove the bucket and empty the contents and then check the seal between the hose and the drip tray. If there is a small leak then replace the hose gasket and re-tighten the hose.

FYI - Your humidifier does not have a pump. It relies entirely on gravity to drain, when you use the hose connection.

That should solve the problem.

Hi, I have an LG dehumidifier, model number LHD650EBL. I have a hose attached and inserted directly into a drain in my basement, bypassing the water tray. Problem is, my dehumidifier is saying...

Try to see if operating the float lever by hand can make it turn off the 'bucket full' message. Maybe use a rubber band or tape to keep it in the on position vs. the 'bucket full' off position.

Check to see if the bucket has to be inserted for the unit to operate, and if the bucket has a nozzle to hook a hose up to at the bottom. I have a dehumidifier of a different brand that has this feature that works with the bucket in, but with the drain nozzle on the bucket connected to a plastic tube that leads to a drain for continuous operation without having to empty the bucket.

How is your hose attached to the unit if it isn't attached to the bucket?

Good luck on this repair.

Water going into carpet instead of ac water bucket

I have this air conditioner. What I did was get a long plastic tube from home depot and connect it to the middle back drain. I then put the plastic tube outside my window, or if u have a drain somewhere put it in there or put the end into a big bucket. Let gravity do its job. I did not connect the tube to the internal bucket b/c I would have to empty it too often. The air conditioner is on top of a table so that water will flow down the tube and out the window.

Narrow tube v. plug and cap?

If the unit stops working and some kind of a 'water level full' indicator appears then un bend it and un plug it and then let the water drain into a bucket.  If it continues to indicate that the internal water tank if full you may want to run a hose to a drain in the floor or into a bucket to let the water drain away and the unit keep running without stopping.
