Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Here is the reset procedure that is done through operation panel: press "Clear Modes" botton, then 107,then press and hold the "Stop" key for 3-5 seconds until you see the screen has changed. After that you need to turn the main power swith off and back on.The error code should be reset at this point. If it comes back, you may have a bad thermistor, a bad fusing lamp or a bad connector.

If you have a Ricoh copier the problem is in the fuser unit.Enter in the service mode:press the total clear key-107-stop/clear key, open the front door and turn off the copier, unplugged and wait 10 sec.Turn ON the power switch after plugged the copier and close the front door.

I have been a ricoh tech for 21 years. SC 541,544 etc are heat related error codes. They are designed to shut down the machine when the thermistor (sensor that reads temperature) detect a higher or lower temperature then that of the pre determined operating temperature. Imagine what could happen if your machine warmed up and up without stopping? This could potentially create a fire and/or have a meltdown condition within the copier. Its for safety reasons for you and your machine.
Think of a car that is over heating but your dashboard not having a temperature gauge to alert you. You would eventually blow your heads or engine.
