Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Made funny noise while running; opened the door and removed some items; now won't run at all; both sprayers are free and turn; all lights on panel will come on; will not start when restarted or cancelled; water still in bottom.

OK. It did drain. I took off the lower wand-assembly and see a washer underneath that appears to be split. I replaced the assembly. Now it seems to be working without any excess noise.

I wonder whether the noise could have been caused by the washer being split, allowing the twirling thingy to run lop sided, or loose. What do you think?

Yes, this was helpful. I am not quite through to the solution, however.

Set the controls to off then power off at the mains for 30 mins and then power mains back on and run a drain program or a full wash program. If the water won’t drain away than the most likely problems are the door interlock switch is faulty, the drain water motor is faulty, there is a blockage in the drain outlet pipe or filter – this will need unblocking, there is a blockage in the water pump – this will need to be unblocked, the controller board is faulty – but this generally shows an error code.

Indesit D41 Dishwasher draining problem. the filter on my dishwasher isn't letting through water, I attacked it with a plunger but I don't know how to open it up to unblock it. please help

First check this. Clean the water inlet filter at the tap outlet regularly. - Turn off the water tap. - Unscrew the end of the water inlet hose, remove the filter and clean it carefully under running water. - Replace the filter and screw the water hose back into position.
Then, if needed check this. Cleaning the filters
The filter assembly consists of three filters which remove food residues from the washing water and then recirculate the water. They should be cleaned if you wish to achieve the best results in every wash. Clean the filters regularly. The dishwasher should not be used without filters, or if the filter is loose. After several washes, check the filter assembly and if necessary clean it thoroughly under running water, using a non-metallic brush and following the instructions below: 1. Turn the cylindrical filter C in an anti-clockwise direction and pull it out (fig. 1). 2. Remove the cup filter B by exerting a slight pressure on the side flaps (fig. 2). 3. Slide out the stainless steel plate filter A (fig. 3). 4. Inspect the trap and remove any food residue. NEVER REMOVE the wash cycle pump (black detail) (fig. 4).
Always keep the door of the appliance ajar in order to avoid moisture from forming and being trapped inside the machine. Clean the seals around the door and detergent dispensers regularly using a damp sponge. This will avoid food becoming trapped in the seals, which is the main cause behind the formation of unpleasant odours.
Preventing unpleasant odours
Food residue may become encrusted onto the sprayer arms and block the holes used to spray the water. It is therefore recommended that the arms are checked from time to time and cleaned with a small non-metallic brush. The two sprayer arms may both be removed. To remove the upper sprayer arm, rotate the locking ring in an anti-clockwise direction. The upper sprayer arm should be replaced with the holes facing upwards. The lower sprayer arm can be removed by pressing on the side tabs and pulling it upwards.
Cleaning the sprayer arms
After cleaning the filters, replace the filter assembly and fix it in position correctly; this is essential for maintaining the efficient operation of the dishwasher.
Leaving the machine unused for extended periods
If the water hoses are new or have not been used for an extended period of time, let the water run to make sure it is clear and free of impurities before performing the necessary connections. If this precaution is not taken, the water inlet could become blocked and damage the dishwasher.
Cleaning the water inlet filter*
Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply and shut off the water tap. Leave the door of the appliance ajar.
When you return, run a wash cycle when the dishwasher is empty.
That should cover all your bases

Well, I was gonna say make sure the door is latched, but most units won't even come on if its not. All I can think of is that their is something obstructing the sprayer blade? Otherwise, their is an issue with the programming itself. I suggest contacting the manufacturer and having them troubleshoot it with\for you.

Dryer drum won't spin

the front control panel has 2 little screws on the 2 top corners remove them, then pry off the entire control panel (very careful ) once the panel is off remove 4 screws that hold the front to the body, then open the door and remove the 2 screws in front next to the lint filter, slowly remove the front door assembly starting from top, disconnect the door switch, then lift it off the front hooks and the door is out, then remove the front 4 screws from the front bearing and remove, so will gain access to the blower housing, good luck

Car runs. Lights on instrument panel stays on, signal lights don't work and air conditioner won't come on, message center won't light up or turn on. could this be a fuse and if it is where is...

which lights on the instrument panel are on ? fuses are easy ,, your going to have 2 of the boxes actually, One is either down by the drivers side kick panel along the edge of the bottom of the dash,, ( you may have to look up from the floor level to see it) or it could be along the edge of the dash,, open the drivers door, and look at the side of the dash board ,, ( some models have it placed there, ) most have little door coverings now, just open it up,, then there is one that has the larger fuses and relays in it,, that one is located under the hood along the fender wall of your vehicle,, these usually have to do with motor parts,, But Ive seen some with other items too, so check both,, use a tester for the fuses, you don't want to get stuck someplace because of a 25 cent fuse !! lemme know about those lights, and I'll assist you more just replay to this feed and I'll see it

I own a GE Profile Trition quietpower III GSD5940F00SS dishwasher. The dishes, particularly the mugs and cups, are not getting clean.

Your sprayer arms may be clogged. You can remove them by loosening the screws holding them in place. Flush them with the sprayer at your sink. If you can SEE residue (parts of paper labels, bone fragments, fruit peel pieces, etc) remove them with a tweezer.Reinstall the spray arms and see if that works.
Three more ideas:
(1) run a cycle without dishes OR detergent and use 1/4 cup of white vinegar instead. This will break down soil and "gunk" and help your dishwasher run more effectively.
(2) use an old toothbrush and clean the underside of the door INSIDE the dishwasher. The door will be open and you just brush the bottom of the open door on the INSIDE of the dishwasher. A lot of "crud" gathers there and can be redeposite on your dishes. We seldom think to check that area.
(3) the pipe that carries water to the upper sprayer arm MUST fit against the outlet in the back of the dishwasher. If it is dislodged or not seated properly, the water won't flow to the upper sprayer arm.
Hope one of these suggestions helps. If it does, please rate my suggestion. Thanks.

It seems that I have a short in my wires. My tail lights wont stay on. My problem is the lift gate is stuck and I cannot access the lights. When u use the remote to open the doors it makes a funny sound....

You should be able to remove the trimpanel on the lift-gate. then at the location of the striker in the middle-bottom of lift-gate you should be able to access a rod. Grab the rod with pliers, if pliers won,t fit the rod connects to a metal lever attached to the striker assembly, pry the lever away from the striker and this should release you gate....Good Luck!!!

Frigidaire Frost Free Commercial Freezer

The drain has most likely frozen over. It is at the bottom behind the back panel inside the freezer. You will need to remove all of the ice and run hot water down the drain until it is clear.
