If your docking station is not recognized then go to start manu and then go to search and search dell dock u find it and click on it your dell dock is starting

You will have to take the docking station apart until you can see the locking mechanism. Once you can see the mechanism, you should be able to get a screwdriver ron it and release it. Make sure that it releases, don't force it, and most of all, be patient.

Try removing the laptop, unlug the power to the dock and wait a few minutes, then connect the power now put your laptop back on the dock.
