You may be out of luck trying to unlock that on your own. You have to be on an active connection. That means you have to have service to do it. WIFI wont work for this. I would go to an ATT store and see what they can do.

Phone is a tri-band phone instead of a quad-band one. Will not work on ATT network in home area and many others due to many tri-band phones not being supported on the ATT 850mhz network.
it maybe a clone that only has tri-band instead of a quad-band network...so you need to check the network settings to see if the MHZ is on 850mhz or 900mhz

the W850i is a tri-band phone...meaning it should be working on 900mhz/1800mhz/1900mhz band...if 3 and orange networks may be working on 850mhz band...so you need to get a mobile that pick up the 850mhz
it is a gsm phone with a sim card slot . It has the 900/1900 mhz bands.
