You have a great piece of equipment however the carb that stihl used is a very touchy carb even for a certified tech like myself. if you cleaned the carb and installed the kit correctly and it still is not working correctly the best thing to do now is to replace the carb and the gaskets. when you get the carb dont adjust anything they come pre-adjust from the factory. they are a little expensive but its about the only fix. we would replace probly 20 to 30 a week for this issuse

Why my s430 will run and idle but dies as soon as squeeze the trigger even if I do it slow? The primmer bulb was bad so I changed that but still does the same thing?

Carb is in need or a cleaning and rebuild. I would suspect the diaphragm is bad. You can get a rebuild kit with all the gaskets for most carbs for around $10. There are some that gaskets are not available for and you would need to replace the entire carb. Carbs run from $15 to $30.

Ryobi 725r carb adjustments

Zama Carb? Turn both low and high meter screws 2 full turns counterclockwise, and idle speed control to maximum. Prime unit and start motor. Run for about ten seconds and then turn idle jet (clockwise) for maximum rpm and then lower idle rpms - readjust idle meter as necessary along with idle screw. Then gun unit at high speed and turn high screw for maximum rpm. Go from idle to max and make sure there is a smooth transition. If not play a tad with the idle mixture screw till that is achieved.

Poulan 446t Will start, won't continue to

The diaphragm in the carb is likely ruined from the gas gelling onto it. This will put pinholes in it and then it won't work properly. Pick up a carb kit and rebuild it (if parts available) and then you should be good to go. If you can't rebuild the carb, a replacement will run you 30 bucks or more.

I have an antique stihl weedeater that will not stay running I've cleaned the carb.,the carb sceens and replaced the primer bulb I'm not 100% sure about the scew settings.

You probably know that it may need a rebuild kit with the new gaskets and diaphragms in it. It is quite possible a kit exists for it even though it is antique. Is it a Walbro or a Zama? I will send you to a tutorial by Zama on tuning a 2 stroke carb which includes your mixture screw settings. If you need help finding a rebuild kit or just a gasket w/diaphragms kit, please post back. I will be glad to assist.

My Echo SHC-212 will start and slow idle but when I give it gas it boggs and stalls. I've changed the spark plug and I'm using the proper mix. Any suggestions? I was thinking of trying to clean the carb...

The prior posters must be from the Briggs & Stratton era :0] This is an EPA carb. You can only adjust the idle speed. The Echo SHC-212 uses the Zama RB-K75 carb.

My SHC-212 had the same bogg/stall symptoms. I had to disassemble and clean the carb to get rid of it. There is an internal filter screen that sometimes clogs. I soak and use compressed air to blow out all orifices. But the real problem is leaving ethanol gas in the carb during storage. It warps the delicate gaskets/valves. So buy Zama rebuild kit.

Getting fire on the spark plug, but no start Noticed the last time it ran, that while running it started slowing down as in rpm's. Hasn't started since.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The cause for the RPM slow down in always fuel starvation.

^- Inspect the fuel feed and return lines Items 17 and 18 for any cracks, holes or loose connections.

If after inspecting or reparing the fuel lines the problem persists you will most likely need a kit to rebuild your ZAMA carb. PN# 615277

Wont run up to speed without choke partially on. Where are the carb. adjustments? Does it requir a special tool/

Probably uses a Zama Or Walbo carb. The mixture screws are factory preset and may or may not have plastic limiters on them. There are tools for adjusting these type carbs or you can fashion one yourself. Most of the screws are of the "splined" variety.Running partially choked is a result of the carb needing adjustment and/or repair (rebuild kit). Like anything else, they require maintenace and installing diaghram or rebuild kit accomplishes this...you can remove and clean the carb and its internals with non-flammable brake cleaner aerosol spray. Don't use high PSI compressed air on it and never soak the carb.

Unable to adjust carburetor after overhauling, engine idle

most modern carbies have fixed jets.some you can pry off the caps and adjust, but usually if you need to adjust carbie, youve got other problems.stale fuel, not enough compression, vaccuum leak, spark plug faulty[oiled up]carb gaskets letting in air, needle valve adjustment causing diapragm to not open it enough.used the wrong gaskets in the kit[sometimes they have different model gaskets in one kit
