Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

No convergence option on set up

I need have the convergence reset but my particular model does not have that option under "set up options". Tech support said I had to call and pay someone to come out and do it for me. I know I did this at the iinitial set up.... is there a way to get back to the "initial set up" when I first got the tv

well it made me do it when I first initially got the tv. It automatically went that area and made me do it before I could do anything else. There was a red, blue and green cross. It had me put one on top of the other. Now that this problem has come up, the RCA call center instructed me to go to the convergence tab under the set up menu. Mine does not have that option and I dont know if it ever did. Isnt there something I can do that would make the set act like it has never been turned on before, thus when I turn it on for the "1st time" again, it automatically directs me to resetting the convergence

You might have a problem.. under setup in the customer menu there is no convergence option. What model do you have. Is the set completely without Convergence?. There is a special fuse in certain models that if blows the processor. tells the set that the set is not a projection so it doesnt need convergence. and removes that option. THe fact u refer that you did this in intial and dont see it now is what makes me suspect this.

Audio but only black screen for video on WS65807

First, the set has a hard reset but it will NOT affect convergence which is stored in a separate area of the set.

Model indicated has 3 hidden menus---all accessed with the Original remote and a 4 digit code.

At your own risk:

This is a V17 chassis that was used in 8 models.

It has 3 hidden tech menus: With set on:

Option menu is 8270 enter---The Option menu reset will return all settings to factory and also will clear any glitches out of the way--it as stated can cause Convergence not to be affected.

Circuit adjust menu: (stay out as one wrong move and fatal things can happen is : 8257 enter.

Convergence adjust menu: (better than customer and SAVES adjustments made in to the DCU or digital convergence unit in the set.

keep in mind I do this here for free and have worked on hundreds of these Mitsubishi sets.

NO PICTURE!!!! Please HELP! I am going to kill my husband for bringing this TV home!

If the model number is correct and all you can get is the menu or on screen displays to work the set may need to be reset--not on the front or in the menu.

The set has 3 hidden menus: adjustment (keep out), tech convergence, and the OPTION menu.

Option menu enables a hard reset to factory of all settings except convergence and is designed to fix odd issues.

You need the Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit code (model specific).

If you have the remote and want to try it let me know what the actual model number is and I will give you a link to the service manual which tells how to do it correctly.

How to reset factory defaults

I will presume you have the model listed here and have the Mitsubishi remote in working condition.

These sets have 3 hidden menus: Adjustment (stay out of that one), Convergence, and the OPTION MENU.

The option menu is the one you would want--it requires that you turn set on--enter a 4 digit number that is model specific.

In the option menu you can do a HARD reset which puts everything except convergence back to factory (that is stored in another area).

The reset puts all settings back to factory--set will come on once done on channel 3 in air band etc.

Let me know model number here is or is not correct and I will give you a link to the service manual with page number to look at---explains how to do the reset. Not a bad idea to save that manual as it contains all kinds of good info on this set.

How do I reset my Mitsubishi WS-65908

Model number here has 3 hidden menus--adjustment (keep out of that one) and convergence, and OPTION menu.

In the Option menu with the Mitsubishi remote you can do a hard reset of entire set--sets everything back to factory except convergence adjustments.

This requires the Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit number code.

I am willing to give that but first would like to know WHY you wish to do that as it will not cure all problems like dead set, convergence etc.

How to reset factory settings ws 65517

If you contact Mitsubishi the set has three hidden menus---convergence adjust, circuit adjust and OPTION MENU.

Each model uses a four digit code with menu and for example 4750 and in the Option menu is the option to do the hard reset for the set---

The wipes all labels (dvd etc) and puts set back to default on all factory settings.

You might find it if you GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER with option menu after it...........

How do i reset my mitsubishi television model#ws-55511

First a reset may not help unless I know what your problem is.

If model listed (WS-55511) IS CORRECT: set has 3 hidden menus:

Option Menu (hard reset of all settings to factory)
Technical Menu (Adjustments for various things)
Convergence Menu for adjusting convergence.

THESE ARE NOT ACCESSED FROM CUSTOMER MENU. Each requires Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit code .......

So, What is your issue with the set?

I have the codes but it depends on model number and what problem with set is, reset is in Option menu but will not cure all problems.

Need code to enter on remote to engage multipoint convergence adjustments.Need save proceedure after adjustments are made & exit proceedure for RCA Projection TV Model # HD52W59, ITC 222A

To get the code to enter on your remote to engage multipoint convergence adjustments, you need to contact the rca customer care for that, you get them your model number and they will get your code for you.

To process and save the adjustment made, follow the steps below;
  1. Look through your manual. Your manual will always give you the most specific directions for your particular model. Look for an "adjusting convergence" or "set manual convergence" section.
  2. Enter the menu on your TV. Use the remote control and bring up the menu.
  3. Choose "Convergence." This may be under "Picture Settings," "Function" or "Advanced Options."
  4. Select a color. You will have red, green and blue to choose from. Do each one, starting with red.
  5. Press "Enter." A crosshair pattern will appear on your screen.
  6. Adjust vertically. If there is a horizontal red line visible, press the up or down arrow keys (or channel up or down) to adjust the convergence until the line is superimposed on the horizontal-center line of the white crosshair.
  7. Adjust horizontally. If there is a vertical red line visible, press left or right (or volume up or down) to adjust horizontally. Do this until the line is superimposed on the vertical line of the white crosshair.
  8. Save settings. It is important to save your settings when you are done, instead of simply exiting the menu.
  9. Repeat these steps for all colors.
Take care

Can not align red even though convergence board WS-55819

Did you replace the center board with the STK-392-570 chips or the Digital convergence board mounted on it?

98% of the time if you have a convergence problem it is on the center board---the small board on the left under the metal shield box stores and controls the convergence of this set.

I am here to help----I have fixed hundreds of Mitsubishi sets with convergence troubles.
