Re: no convergence option on set up
You might have a problem.. under setup in the customer menu there is no convergence option. What model do you have. Is the set completely without Convergence?. There is a special fuse in certain models that if blows the processor. tells the set that the set is not a projection so it doesnt need convergence. and removes that option. THe fact u refer that you did this in intial and dont see it now is what makes me suspect this.

I will presume you have the model listed here and have the Mitsubishi remote in working condition.
These sets have 3 hidden menus: Adjustment (stay out of that one), Convergence, and the OPTION MENU.
The option menu is the one you would want--it requires that you turn set on--enter a 4 digit number that is model specific.
In the option menu you can do a HARD reset which puts everything except convergence back to factory (that is stored in another area).
The reset puts all settings back to factory--set will come on once done on channel 3 in air band etc.
Let me know model number here is or is not correct and I will give you a link to the service manual with page number to look at---explains how to do the reset. Not a bad idea to save that manual as it contains all kinds of good info on this set.
To get the code to enter on your remote to engage multipoint convergence adjustments, you need to contact the rca customer care for that, you get them your model number and they will get your code for you.
To process and save the adjustment made, follow the steps below;
Look through your manual. Your manual will always give you the most
specific directions for your particular model. Look for an "adjusting
convergence" or "set manual convergence" section.
Enter the menu on your TV. Use the remote control and bring up the menu.
Choose "Convergence." This may be under "Picture Settings," "Function" or "Advanced Options."
Select a color. You will have red, green and blue to choose from. Do each one, starting with red.
Press "Enter." A crosshair pattern will appear on your screen.
Adjust vertically. If there is a horizontal red line visible, press the
up or down arrow keys (or channel up or down) to adjust the convergence
until the line is superimposed on the horizontal-center line of the

Save settings. It is important to save your settings when you are done, instead of simply exiting the menu.
thats a easy and inexspensive repair. there is a repair kit called the ITC222 and ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit which will usually fix that issue. You can get the kit which has the parts and detailed instructions at the following link. www.tvrepairworld.com under their RCA repair kits category.
Let see if i agree with the tech. first question what does the picture look like. Second in customer menu under setup do you have the "convergernce " option in the menu if not it might be a simple inexpensive repair known as fl231 fuse. if you have the option try autoconverging see how far it gets. does the picture bow in from the top and bottom. there are three possible cuircit boards that effect convergence. And it takes a technician sometimes to adjust... let me know and will continue to troubleshoot this down
