HI, check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.
2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever The dryer will not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.
Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.
Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.
3. Thermal fuse Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.
Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.
4. Timer or control board Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

**The most common issue here will be a defective Thermal fuse

Check the thermal fuse located at the back of the dryer.
I can be more specific if model number as written on service tag is provided.

I have an admiral electric dryer. It stopped in the middle of a cycle and the light is out and it won't turn on. I checked the fuse box, the plug and the belt is still on, so what do I do now?

Did you test the power outlet with another device...Sometimes a power outlet will fail under the load of a high current appliance like a drier...If the drier runs on 220 volt current...and have circuit breakers instead of fuses...make sure the 220 volt breaker for the dryer is not tripped...If it is tripped...reset it....if not...have a tech to check the outlet. oncee it is established that the drier is getting power and still not working...you may want to get it checked out by service personnel....Hope this was helpful....PEACE.....

Amana dryer model YNED7200TW will not start. there is power, but start button does nothing. Resetting breaker did not work. Any ideas?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

My dryer has quit running. Can't even turn it on.

Is this a gas or electric dryer.? Do you have an electrical testor. ? One that indicates voltage is best with 2 leads that can be inserted into the outlet. Couple of bucks at Home Depot.etc. If you have power in the outlet you have eliminated the house wiring as the culprit. Once you know then tracing for the problem can continue in the proper direction. If you are not savvy on electricity you may need trained help for this.

Can't open Admiral ADE7005AYW

Try sliding a thin putty knife rearward at each front corner of the top while lifting upward slightly. Shine a light into the joint and look for metal joining the two halves. Once the top is loose, look for screws in the inside front edges and lift up on the front panel to release. Make sure to pull the power plug while working in there.
