Question about Lexmark X8350 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My lexmark X8350 has been working perfectly until I turned the power off because I was getting redy to replace the printer cartridges. It would not power back up after this. The supply cord has a grren light on but it will not power up.

I do so apologize for the problem during our chat session. One second I was typing in the next step and then suddenly the chat program wouldn't send my chat, and the top of the window said server error.

I would have contacted you before but I did not remember your user name until the website management gave me the info.

If you still do not have your printer working, please download the vista driver here (note where you download the file to.)

Then make sure your printer is not connected to the computer.
Double click the driver file you downloaded to start installing the driver.

When the install asks you how the printer is connected, reconnect the USB cable to the printer and pc.

If you have any other problems with the install, just let me know.

And again I apologize for any inconvenience the interrupted chat session may have caused.

SOURCE: I refilled the ink cartridge

If white lines are present in the alignment page, then try this, warm some bottled water on the stove or microwave untill it almost boils. Then pour the water about a quarter of an inch deep in a plastic clean cup, place the printhead section of the cartridge, (the part that the ink sprays out of), in the water and let set for about 5 to 10 minutes. When you remove the cartridge from the water, dab it several times on a lint free paper towel or an old cotton cloth, DO NOT RUB or touch the printhead with your fingers or anything else. Then using a cotton swab dampened in rubbing alcohol, clean the shiney electrical contacts on the cartridge and where they touch in the machine. If you still cant align, then probably its time to replace the cartridge. You can only refill so many times before the printing elements burn out with usage.

SOURCE: Lexmark X8350 "communication not available"

I fixed this by completely uninstalling the Lexmark software, then unplugging the USB and restarting. I then installed the new Lexmark software that I downloaded from their site, make sure not to plug the USB back in until it told me to. It then detected the printer properly and started working.

Hi Alan I think it is the cartridge that is causing your issue but I cant promise that it is.I can tell you from many years experience it very rarely is an issue with the printer breaking it is 99% of the time inferior consumables causing printers to fail, and sometimes wrecking printers so even when the customer does use good consumables it is too late and the damage is done, but we can't be sure of anything unless we start with basics and get 100% brand new Original Equipment Manufacturers carts (OEM) and stick them in. (no I don't work for Lexmark;)

X8350 will not power on. It is getting power. (green light on transformer is on)


Power is on and power light off. Could I have waited too long to replace the color cartridge and that is the reason it is not working

Some menus on the X8310 and X8350 are repeated in the Copy Mode, Scan Mode, Fax Mode and Photo Card menus.
If you press the Menu button while in any of the above menus, two ancillary menus will be listed, Maintenance and Device Defaults.
To select either of these menus, press the check mark pattlnk_442006_155-selects.gif at the center of the navigation keys on the printer.

Cartridge Error # 1203 when replacing black ink cartridge


It sounds like the printer thinks it is not a genuine ink cartridge. Fit a Lexmark cartridge to cure it.

I purchased a new cartridge and it prints ok - problem is the printer shows the cartridge to be empty {Lexmark X8350 printer} I contacted Lexmark Service and they were unable to help - spent one hour on...


I guess Lexmark should pay for the new cartridge if they are asking you to get a new one.

Anyway, remove and reinstall the new cartridges. By the way, did you got the new cartridges or a refilled ones? Refilled ones may not work and show empty.

Check if the printer configuration on the computer have a procedure for installing new cartridges and follow the instructions.

If you already know the procedure for installing cartridges, clean the contacts with a soft cloth, be sure not to touche the contacts with the fingers.

I have a lexmark x8350 all in one. It doesnt see the right(color) cartidge. I've replaced the cartridge twice with no luck. Can you help?


Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

ERROR 1203 LEXMARK ERROR 1200 Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

Lexmark (Invalid cartridges)


That printer uses Lexmark 32,33,34,35 cartridges. The branded cartridges should work. Have you contacted Lexmark's technical support center? Contact information is on www.lexmark.com. They should be able to get you going again.
