Trying to see if wireless is turned on. I must verify

Trying to see if it is turned on. I must verify it is disabled. I checked eeprom, Network Setting, and Utilities and didn't see anything about wireless connections. Do I really have one?

Go to hardware section and look under network adapters to see if you have a wireless card installed. Default setting if a card is installed is on.

Why my wifi disabled to connect


To verify the wireless network connection status, please go to the Network Connection Window. For Windows XP, Click on Start. Click on Run. Enter "ncpa.cpl" and click OK. For Windows 7 or Windows Vista, go to "Search programs and files" box. Enter "ncpa.cpl" and hit the Enter key.

If you see the wireless network connection icon is disabled in the Network Connections Window, you may double click on it to enable the connection. Should it is still disabled an no way to be enabled, you may have a AntiVirus software (for example, Kaspersky, ZoneAlarm, Trend Micro Internet Security...etc) installed in your computer and it disabled the wireless connection.

You may completely remove the antivirus software from your computer and restart the computer. Check the wireless connection can be enabled. Then you can re-install the antivirus software.

Most wireless cards will put an icon in the system tray (the line of icons in the lower right corner of your screen). for resolving your problem Click the network properties and select wireless properties,go to "Wireless Networks" tab and then to Properties of the chosen wireless network you are trying to connect to. Then go to "authentification" tab and untick the box saying "Enable IEEE802.1x to the availiable network" and that should solve your problem

My asus will not detect a wireless connection


Hello

check if the led is turned on,if the lead is turned on make sure that the network card is not disabled . check it under network connections and see if it is disabled, enable it.

what does it say when you are trying to scan for the wirless netwroks..

it should either say A) No wireless were detected in the range ... if you get this message it means that you wifi is working fine on the laptop .. check if you can see the wifi turned on the router .

Windows is not configured for this device( or something like that ) .. if you get such kind of message it means you have not enabled WZC(wirelesss zero configuratioin).. for that click on start -- Right Click on MyComputer -- Manage -- Services -- Find wireless zero configuration -- enable.. (After this go to network connstion -- Rightclick -- Propterties--Wireless networks -- Check the box that say use Windows to configure the device.

BASIC Wireless Troubleshooting Steps:

Note: Only use a Static IP Address if your network/Service Provider requires one.

  2. Type the command, ipconfig. This will list the IP address for the local machine.

Wireless connection is gone


under network properties enable the wireless network. Or toggle off and the back on. Some notebooks disable wireless when removed from wall

802.11g Network Adapter Radio Control Switch


Try FN+F2 to toggle the wireless radio on / off. Also check to make sure that driver has the radio enabled. (right click on the network adpter select properties. Click on the advanced tab. verify that radio on/off is set to on.

Verify the wireless network power switch is on. The wireless network device in the computer can be turned on and off. The network power switch is located in different places on different computers. See the User Guide for the location on your model. Most models have a blue LED c01481711.jpg that glows when the wireless network switch is on Verify the wireless network connection is enabled The connection to a wired or wireless network can be disabled or enabled. To verify the status:
  1. Right-click the Network Connection icon c00814097.gif in the system tray, and select Network and Sharing Center .
  2. Select Manage network connections .
  3. Verify the status of the wireless network. c01481714.gif In this graphic, the wireless network is disabled.
  4. To enable the network, right-click the connection, and select enable . It may take a few seconds for the connection to become enabled.
