Spend $ 40 for a tune up at a local chainsaw seller/mechanic. Most Stihl outlets are very good. It sounds like carburation needs adjustment, but they also do a good visual inspection. Mine get done about every 3 years worth of use. HTH

They put in a new plug too. If you do this ask the fuel/oil ratio used to tune your saw. Continue with the same ratio until your next tune up

I HAVE A NEWER POULAN PRO CHAINSAW.STARTS AND RUNS FINE FOR 10-15 min. THEN DIES AND WON'T RESTART UNTILL COLD. THEN IT REPEATS THE SAME PROBLEM.

If it pulls easier than it used to when you try to start, you have low compression. Once the saw warms up, it doesn't have enough compression to run. If that's the case, there is no easy fix, it needs piston rings.

Hi

Check the spark plug first (when the engine has warmed and died). If you have a good spark, check the fuel pump from the carb(it shuld not to be tighten). If everything is ok check the seals(they are sealing the engine).Good luck!
