Question about Zebra P330i Thermal Card Printer
my cards are coming out overlaping of colors, the final black seem to be printing over the other areas, costing me a bomb in cards and ribbon. Everything i lift open the print head cartridge, it advance one set of flim again......
Just a note, you need to be careful when sending the !SA command, as in some of the earlier firmware versions pre v1.16.11 , it can "double count" the i-series chip contained in the ribbon. So for example if you run the !SA command with a new ribbon with 200 prints remaining, it is possible after 100 prints the chip has counted down and the printer displays "OUT OF RIBBON" even though you have half a ribbon left.
I would use the following procedure to recalibrate the colour sensor only:-
1). Remove ribbon and lock the printhead down
2). Send the command !CSA_0 (Where "_" represents a space) - allow this stage to complete
3). Insert the ribbon and lock the printhead down.
4). Send the command !CSA_1 (Where "_" represents a space) - allow the calibration to complete.
This has works for me 99% of the time where the sensor array is faulty.

Thanks very much, your suggetion started a train of thought that eventually led to the answer. this is quite easy to perform and works with many Zebra card printers.
Go to Printers and faxes, right click on the Zebra printer and go to properties. Under Device Settings, go to tools, then properties. At the top is a command window, in this you type the command !SA, that's an axclaimation mark followed by the capital letters S and A. This is the command to recalibrate. click execute, the printer will wizz and whir and then say ready. I've just done 20+ cards on mine and they're all fine.

Sorry just to confirm, after the cleaning cycle, the display asks you to put the ribbon back in the machine.
This is the YMCKO, i series ribbon.
The system then goes through a "RECALIBRATE" cycle to allign the colours.
When you look at the transfer head you should see a white/orange light and a blue light these are the sensors.
Once the cycle is finished try a TEST CARD, press the front button and then switch on the power and hold for 10 secs.
Hope this helps.

Had the same problem!!
Solution, update the Firmware on the printer from zebra.com to latest version, 1.16, also update printer driver on the PC.
When updated switch off, install the drivers etc and start the cleaning process.
Press front button for 2/3 secs and then use the cleaning cards, 1 is like standard cards and the other is the long card.
After cleaning the printer with "RECALIBRATE" with the multi ribbon.
After this everyting is OK.
I think the constant changing of ribbons etc can put calibration out and the new firmware addresses this.
Hope it helps!!!
