Hi,

You could try using the system restore in windows. Under start-->acc-->system tools. Select a restore point and restore to that state. Just try to backup your data before doing this. Hope this helps!

Cheers

Acer aspire 5736Z wont boot on any recovery options

Try starting up in Safe Mode (Console mode) and type in
"SFC /Scannow"Once its done you should be able to do recovery options.
If not, boot from the windows 7 recovery/install CD and choose "Repair".
Go through the recovery process using the CD and it should all be fine!

My msi u100 notebook when i turn it on it says open windows in safe mode then starts opening then goes back to same screen...open windows in safe mode and wont do anything else?

Hello my friend, this is looks like the windows is corrupted and your windows cannot boot ,maybe this is caused by a virus, you can try reinstalling the windows but i don't recommend it if its a virus problem.I recommend you formatting your computer or restore your laptop to factory settings. The last one it depends on laptop some have special restore partitions on the hard drive, usually you press alt+F10,F10,F11 or F12 after powering on the laptop, and it goes into a restore program that wipes your drive and returns the laptop back to the way it was when you first purchased it.
Note all your programs and data will be deleted if you restore the computer.

LAPTOP BLANK SCREEN

Hi,
Try booting the laptop up in safe mode.
To do this restart the laptop and hit F8 as it starts, choose safe mode and see if the laptop boots up. If it does select system restore and restore the system back to before you installed the update.
When the laptop restarts it should tell you if the restore was successful.

Good luck.

My laptop won't boot up

Go into the BIOS and reset defaults and save the changes and exit.

If it still doesn't boot up then try pressing F8 to get to the boot menu and choose safe mode. If you can get into safe mode then restore your laptop back to the last date it was working properly.

If that doesn't work or you can't get into safe mode then the operating system is corrupt and you would have to restore your laptop back to factory defaults.

If you try that and the laptop is not allowing you to restore your laptop back to factory defaults then the hard drive is bad and would need to be replaced.

Acer asprie 5315 running xp sp2 system restore wont work, cant perform a system restore.

Boot to safe mode by pressng F8 as soon as you start the system,
Once you are in safe mode. try to access system restore. In safe mode you will get access to the system even if it faces a severe error.

If it is complete system restore (Restore to factory defaults) which you are looking for then press ctrl+F11 as soon as you start the computer. It will wipe the entire data and restore the system to its factory settings wiping out the entire data in the system.

Crashes all the time

You could try to start in safe mode by pressing F8 and restore last configuration used to see if it works.

If not i am afraid you have to use the Windows CD and try the repair mode. If you have anything on it which you can't delete never format it.

But first try to see if you can boot in safe mode. If you can boot in safe mode we can turn off the setting so you can see what the blue screen is about. If you can't go in safe mode you have to use the Windows CD. Sorry....

Good Luck,

What have you gone through in the setup option? Have you tried the safe mode?

Go into safe mode and restore your system settings. Go to the Start menu, All Programs, Accessories, and System Tools, then System Restore. go through the wizard and pick a point in time before your computer crashed.

If you have any other problems, let me know.

It wont start up

Could be this is a driver error on boot up, when it starts to boot up keep pressing F8, this will bring up the safe mode menu, look for the line and highlight 'Last Known Good Configuration' and press Enter. If this works all is well, but if not press F8 again o boot up but this time highlight the line 'Start Windows in Safe Mode'. If the laptop then boots up in safe mode without shutting down, run your anti virus and spyware programmes. If non found and the laptop still has'nt crashed, then it's a driver problem (as not all the drivers load up in safe mode) and you will need to try a system restore to before the problem started.
