Question about Canon PowerShot A590 IS Digital Camera
Try getting some quality rechargable NiMH batteries and see if they last longer for you. The ones that I use in my A590 are rated at 2500 mah and last quite a while so far. I wouldn't recommend batteries rated at less than 2000 mah for this camera.

I had the same problem with my A590. I was using regular NiMH, all the way up to 2500 mah and still not getting many pics per charge; always dead at the wrong time. I switched to Eneloop batteries by Sanyo and I have to say they are incredible. Even though these ready-to-use batteries are rated at minimum 1900 mah, they work great and best of all last forever. I can take a LOT of pics before they run down. Very happy with the Eneloop with my A590.
