Yes we can help you. We service Vulcan and we love these units. May I begin to telling you that you have a great range?!! This is either your ignitors or the gas valves, but most probably the ignitors out if the pilots keep going out. I will check on the price and availability of all the parts that you need and respond to this request. Could you please send me your email address? We look forward to working with you on this issue.

I spoke to my service manager about this range. You need the pilot tubing runner assembly to keep the oven pilots on and you need piloy tubing for the front burners. These parts are all available and we can ship these within 1 - 4 business days for you. Please call or email our office between 7 AM & 8 PM CST and we will go over the pricing with you. 972-859-0929. We hope to hear from you soon and we look forward to getting your Vulcan back up and running again soon.

Hello Patrick,

WHen you turn on the oven/broiler does the size of the polot ligh increase in size??
the way it is suppose to work is...thier a small free standing polot light and when ya turn on the oven the size of the pilot is suppose to increase and heat a little bulb that is connected to a wire that is mounted to the pilot burner and when that bulb heats up it will allow the main gas to flow into the oven(not pilot burner).

If the size of the pilot does not increase it could be caused by a clogged pilot burner. the way to determine that is TURN OFF GAS SUPPLY...disconnect gas line from pilot burner and turn on gas to unit, light that tube with it disconnected from pilot burner and turn oven on and see if size of flame drastically increases...if it does turn gas off and remove and replace pilot burner
if flame sizedoes not increase the problem is going to be the thermostat

If the pilot does increase and heats the bulb on the pilot burner the problem will be with the gas valve that, that bulb in the pilot burner accathes to is bad .

now chances of the thersostat still being available is very slim if the pilot burner is clogged and needs replaced they are still available their is 2 of them one has the mounting plate on the left and one is on the right.
here is what they look like

oldtech2332_148.jpgPart number for this one is 1898-021 notice how the mounting tab is on the right

oldtech2332_149.jpgthis one is pt# 1898-022 the tab is on the left

That when performing a quick search on google is pretty much all that still available teh thermostat (would need model number) is doubtful to find also a good chance the gas valve is also no longer available

Good luck,
GENE

Hi- This should have a gas Safety Valve, this is the main valve to the oven (this probably has 2). If you remove the lower panel under the doors they are probably right there. Looks like a large gas valve with a button on it, sometimes the button is red. You need to hold in that button while lighting the pilot and keep holding it in for a few seconds until the thermocouple gets hot enough to tell the valve to keep the pilot on. You'll have to do this for both ovens if there are 2 valves. It's possible the valves are located somewhere else on the range so you may have to hunt a bit. If the pilots still won't stay lit you may need new thermocouples in which case I'd call a Tech out to look at it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I have a 6 burner Vulcan stove with a bad oven pilot light.

Hi! I have the same problem with one of my burners (I have a morice range). I changed the thermocouple, but it didn´t help. I contacted Morice in France and was told that the problem most sertainly was the coil inside the gasvalve. I don´t know if it possible to dismantle the ovengasvalve to check the coil. As for a burner valve, one should open the valve at the end were the gas goes out to the burner to locate this coil. Where's the pilot light for the oven on a Galaxy gas stove model 790.61031100

The Oven pilot is attached to the burner(aka-Thermal bulb). its on the base of the burner tube. There's an elbow piece that connects the burner tube(aka-Thermal bulb) to the Safety valve. its right in between these two parts, attached to the elbow.

I have an older model brown stove and cannot light the oven pilot

The oven pilot is accessible through the broiler door, (you're pretty much laying on the floor to light it) or through the oven bu removing the oven bottom panel. To remove the oven bottom, place fingers in holes near the door, and apply pressure to slide the bottom toward the rear, and lift when the front (by your fingers) comes free. Remove completely and set aside. You should now see a flame spreader (V-shaped metal pan) retained by one or two winged screws. Removing the screws allows removal of the spreader. This exposes the burner, complete with pilot. There is two tubing lines to the pilot assembly, one about 1/4 inch dia. and one much smaller. the one at the end of the 1/4 inch tube is the pilot. The piece at the end of the really thin tube is the thermocouple. You have to heat the thermocouple to get the gas to come on to the pilot. A match just won't do it as you need to apply a flame to the thermocouple for about 30 seconds or so. Heat the thermocouple until the pilot will self-sustain. When the pilot stays on on it's own, put it all back together. If you elect to just go through the broiler, again heat the thermocouple until the pilot will self-sustian.

Garland oven does not work

Hi, it is hard to tell for sure, but it sounds like your safety device, the component that keeps the pilot lit, may have failed, allowing gas to the pilot, but not letting gas through to the burner. See your manual on/off valve lets gas to the thermostat, then through the thermostat down to the safety, because you wouldn't want gas to get past there if there is no pilot, and now that part is stuck open, but the rest of the part is not engaged to open and let gas continue to the burner. There is an easy way to tell, under the bottom panel, is a part with a red button ( the safety ) and connected to it is a copper looking tube, or the thermocouple, it can be disconnected by unscrewing it from the safety with a wrench, if the pilot goes out, your safety is mostly working, if not, it is bad, and needs replacement. Let me know, hope that help, and thank you.

Gaffers & Sattler stove

The pilot is under the bottom oven deck, usually you can lift the front edge, and slide it out, smelling gas without a pilot would be bad, that means either A : your safety is bad, and allowing gas to flow anyway, which requires replacement, and you may as well replace the thermocouple, and clean the pilot. or B : it is old enough it does not have a protected pilot, and you have to manually light it, usually indicated by an open hole in the front middle of the oven deck plate when you open the door, with a tube going to the burner. or C : your oven burner is bad or misaligned with the burner, and is shooting gas away from the pilot area, it would light via an open pilot eventually, but you don't want that. Please let us know, or have a qualified servicer look at it. Happy New Year, and thank you.

The pilot adjustment screw is located on the back side of the oven temperature thermostat. Lift the cook top to access it. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust... counter clockwise= bigger flame.
