First verify 220 volts of power to the dryer at the wire terminal where the cord hooks up. Look for a loose or burned connection here also. If power is OK,ohm the TCO and hi-limit thermostat on the heater canister. Ohm the heater. No ohm reading on any of these parts replace them.

My roper dryer REXEW1 runs the cycle but it dosen't heat. how di I fix it?

This is usually caused by a blown thermal cut-off located on the top of the heater housing. It blows and cut power to the heating element when the high-limit thermostat fails. The thermal cut-off must be replaced, together with the high-limit thermostat, if found open. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this problem.

Kenmore dryer blows cold air. I replaced heat element still no luck? model 96263800

It doesn't necessarily mean the heating element is busted when an electric dryer stops heating. The heating circuit is not just composed solely by the heating element, it is composed by the thermal cut-off, high-limit thermostat, cycling thermostat, motor centrifugal switch, and the timer. The first thing to look at when an electric dryer stops heating is the thermal cut-off. It cuts power to the heating element when it blows most likely due to the failure of the high-limit thermostat. The thermal cut-off must be replaced, together with the high-limit thermostat, if found open. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this problem.

Dryer wont heat

The problem is likely the thermal cut-off and/or the high-limit thermostat if the dryer runs but doesn't heat. Verify this by bypassing the thermal cut-off and the high-limit thermostat. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting.

We have a Whirlpool LER 5636 Electric Clothes Dryer - the heating element gets too hot - starts to smell like it is going to burn. We have not used it since. Is it worth fixing? Thank you.

This can be a tricky fix. This could be the timer ? or High Limit Thermostat .First of all, I need you to do something...First, set the dryer to Air Fluff thats with no heat. Run it for 5 minutes see if the dryer is getting HOT. I know it should not but thats what I need to see . Then get back to me.

LER 5620KQO won't start. Any ideas?

I would think that you either have a bad thermal fuse, Thermal cut off or bad door switch. Most likely a bad thermal cut off.

Dryer will run but does not heat up

Either bad heating element or missing one leg of the 240V circuit. The motor runs on 120V.
