Question about Panasonic FV-08VQ2 Fan

Open Question

Fan is making noise

I installed a Panasonic FV-08VQL4. The installation was confirmed by 2 other installers. Installation is correct. Fan makes noise, but is warranted as whisper quiet. Fan is less than 3 months old, clean.

SOURCE: Installation of a Panasonic Fan FV-05VFL2...

If you are not very handy I don't think I'd tackle this project. There's going to be drywall cutting, backing to install, attic crawling, wiring, ducting to attach, proper insulating. As an electrician I've done this sort of thing in between 1 and 2 hours, depending on how smooth things go. If you find somebody you trust that's done it before who is willing do to it on the side for cash you're looking at $25-$60 for labor. Is it worth it to you?

SOURCE: I have a 3 year

Sounds like a loose wire inside the unit. But, I would try this. With the power off, both switch and circuit breaker, try and bend the center contact for the light bulb out; pull it out away from the back of the socket. This may be the bad contact. The center contact on the bulb touches this in order to get power up into the bulb. Using a small screw driver, try and scrape the surface of this contact to clean it a bit. DO ALL OF THIS WITH THE POWER OFF!!!
Hope this helps.

I do not see how to get at the lightbulb in my Panasonic Whisper Fan/light. I can not see any way to open the cover where the light is. What is the procedure?

Hi, I searched the web for answer and finally got it from the installation manuel. You have to take the whole cover off, not just the cover for the light. Below is the website for the installation manuel. ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/Panasonic/business/building-products/ventilation-systems/pdf/install/08VFL2-E.pdf

The answer is on P.13-14.

Can a normal two part wall switch run all three parts of a panasonic whisperlite fan/light/night light combo

Was it wired up there before with the 2 switches? One for the fan and the other for the light? You will have to take the plug out of the fan and cut the ends and wire nut them to their wire on the switch. Otherwise it be on when the switch is on. Or,,,, Find the right wire inside there and make sure it is separated from the light and hook it up that way, then it can stay plugged into the fan unit. Check it out, hope this helps.

WIRING DIAGRAM

The light box in your ceiling should have two or three wires. Black and White, or Red, Black and White.

If you have two wires (one switch to control everything):
Black is power - hook this to the fan's power wire (and the fan's light wire if applicable)
White is neutral - hook this to the fan's neutral wire.

If you have three wires (two separate switches):
Red is power for the light - hook this to the fan's light wire if applicable
Black is for the fan - hook this to the fan's motor
White is neutral - hook this to the fan's neutral wire.

My Panasonic FV-11VQL2 seems to have the damper stuck in the closed position. The fan does not exhaust well, ever since we got a new roof (vent and 4" duct too). Any way to unstuck it without going into...

Hubby went into attic. The roofer did a poor job installing the new 4" duct and roof vent; duct was poorly attached and pinched at both ends. He redid both connections, and now the fan works well----no more foggy, drippy mirrors!
So, the fan is fine------the installation of the new roof vent and duct was shoddy.

Panasonic Whisper Warm Installation

The vent fan must be exhausted into the outside air via a 4 inch flex duct, this may be difficult if installed in the wall!
