Question about Mitsubishi WS-55315 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have a 3 yr old 55315. When I turn it on you can clearly see that the red gun is not on. After about 5-10 minutes, the screen turns completely red for about half a second and then the picture is great. Is there a known problem with the guns?
After 2 minuts it lost convergens

You could have a bad transistor for the red gun on the neck board or possibly a cracked solder joint on the transistor. The red gun may need to be 'cleaned' by a rejuvination process. The guns can get a buildup on them after time that needs to be burned off to bring it back to life. In some cases, if the coating on the gun is very thin it can be burned completely off during a rejuv. process leaving it totally unusable. It is possible to use a charged capacitor to 'zap' the guns to attempt a rejuv., but it may need more than what a capacitor can give it.
