The laptop freezes every 3 seconds

Well, caramelapopc, if you haven't upgraded the amount of RAM/memory in the laptop at any point, it is completely understandable that you might experience slowdowns. When Windows Vista was released, some manufacturers marketed laptops with only 1 GB of memory. This is the bare minimum for Vista to run, and as Vista got more bloated with updates and service packs, that 1GB gets pushed to it's limit. Acer was actually sued for selling laptops with only 1GB of RAM and Windows Vista because the laptops didn't meet the minimum system requirements for Vista after the video adapter had allotted say ~100MB for itself. My recommendation would be to go to, look up your laptop by manufacturer and model number, and purchase more memory from them. You'll see a significant increase in smoothness, basically, it'll be back to like new again.

I am having toshiba laptop . i can't charge the laptop while working . please help as soon as possible.

Welcome to FixYa!

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Service Pack 2 is known to cause issues. Can you restart the computer into safe mode?

Turn on the computer, press F8 while the computer is turning on, choose safe mode and remove Service Pack 2 by going to Control Panel, Add Remove Programs or if in windows vista or 7 - go to Programs and Features and select Service Pack 2 and click Uninstall.

Restart the computer and let me know if your computer comes back on.

Audio driver

Go to Asus website.Find product support and/or downloads and put in your model number or serial number and then get only the drivers for XP.If it has a chipset driver among them be sure to install it first in order for all the other drivers to work properly and without problems.

The sims 2 and my laptop don't seem to be compatible.

Apparently if your graphics card is intergrated then it can cause problems because its shared and its not the same as a normal graphics card.

Also when you install more and more expansion packs the game gradually slows down possibly crashing.
