This happened to me, give the pc 5 minutes, then:
Type your User name, then
Press tab and type the Computer description, press enter and wait 5 secs then press enter again. Wait for the computer to load windows for the 1st time and display will appear. Not sure why it did this. FYI pressing enter the 2nd time made there be NO password for this user logon so you'll have to go through control panel to assign one if desired.

Wait I forgot there is one more screen after the 2nd enter, wait 5 sec
and then there is a three option screen for Windows security sorry I
cant remember exactly what for. I know I choose the third option by
pressing tab 3 times and then space bar and then enter. P.s. Try plug
the laptop on to a normal desktop screen through the AGP connector?

If there is nothing on the display, then there may be a hardware malfunction. Either the inverter board is bad (likely) or the LCD itself is bad (less likely). I would suggest to replace the inverter board first and see if that solves your problem.

Intel pentium - booting up ok, but nothing shows on screen. Pressed F12 came up with error message error setting up the MD3 over power button. Also, unable to locate media direct BIOS table.

If your computer is showing nothing on screen it is not booting up OK. Are there any beep codes being given during bootup? One single beep at the end of the POST sequence is OK, anything more means some kind of hardware error found during bootup. Media Direct 3 is a Dell product that has caused a number of problems on its computers. See Dell MediaDirect . Your option may be limited to contacting Dell support.

Hi there,

You may be having a problem with the graphics driver of your laptop. You can try to download the graphics driver specific for your laptop model and operating system. The best to check if it is not an issue with the LCD is to attach an external monitor and check if the line appears on the external display.

Hope this simple tip helps.

Bootup password

to be honest, your probably not going to get very much luck on this one. the bootup password, if i'm not mistaken, would be your system startup password. it's built into your bios (which is part of your motherboard). it's not even on the hard drive or the operating system in any way. no windows or anything involved. if this is the case, there's not really anything you can do aside from remember the password. however, if it's a windows password. you have several options. including small programs that bypass passwords for windows.

White screen with vertical lines, can't do anything

Can you bootup in Safe Mode?
Press F8 when you bootup.
Then select LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION. then check the Device Manager to see if the Video driver is OK and enabled. If OK then shut down and bootup again to see if it boots up normally.
If this doesn't work select SAFE MODE instead of Last Known ......
When Windows starts then select a Restore Point prior to the installation of the driver update and when it boots up again with luck it will be OK. The graphic card update maybe causing the problem.

No operating system found

If the error message says "No operating system found" it is most likely a faulty disk controller or a faulty hard disk.
Reseat the hard disk, if this doesn't work you need to test the hard disk another way. Remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard disk adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer sees this as an external hard drive and you can open the folders and files then the hard disk is OK and the fault is the disk controller on the the 4115c laptop.
If the hard disk is not detected then the hard disk is faulty. You need to install a new hard disk, install Windows and the laptop's device drivers and programs to get a working laptop again.

Black and white lines after bios screen before boot up

The issue appears to be cosmetic if the system boots to WIndows and there are no display issues using the system. Some systems I've seen have a bit of video distortion between the BIOS splash screen and the desktop. A couple things may change that. Update the system BIOS and the video driver to the most current available
