You need to consider reinstallin another one. Better still you need to buy a plug and play drive with a USB port and a good antivirus system. Best yet, you need to consider upgrading to a CD/DVD or a flash drive storage system. They are more modern, with more storage space and good plug-n-play mechanisms

Stuck in start up repair 1525

Try the next oldest restore point until the issue is resolved. Any software installed after the selected restore point needs to be reinstalled.
If system restore still doesn't work, run the "Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics and Error Codes For Dell Computers", you may click the link below to go directly to the support site, it contains instructions in running PSA Diagnostics and Error Code List with possible fixes.

I have hooked it upto a dell desk top and do not have disk how can i make it work

Hi Sam, It should work with your Dell as long as you put in the right driver to suit your operating System. You dont need a Disk because we download the right driver.

First unplug the USB printer to computer cable and go to control Panel/Add and remove programs and uninstall any pre existing lexmark software. Also go to printers and fax's and remove/delete any printer icons that you are not using or apply to your lexmark X3470 printer.

Once you have done that go to this link for lexmark and download the right one to suit what version of windows you are running, if my link doesn't work in you country just go to lexmark's web and go to drivers and downloads for lexmark X3470. Here is another Link just in case i stuffed it;)

Once you have found the right file run the file,a warning will prompt but choose run again, then choose install and follow the instructions on the next page software will tell you to connect your USB cable so do so when prompted by the Lexmark software.

Heres an example for Windows 7 32bit in pics

Choose RUN or save it known location if you using slow internet and then open it.

Second screen priomping warning run anyway as software is from lexmark and just isnt windows certified

Third is Lexmark software starting to install on my machine, note Lexmark X3400 Series is compatable with the "70" version of 3400 series ie X3470

Let me know how you go, or if you need more help

Cheers

Does it come with pre-installed webcam software on the laptop?

If it does: run it.

If it doesn't: download the webcam software on the manufacturer's website and run it!

Have a dell desktop xp home edition (no manual) - does this desktop have a wireless turn on/off button like a laptop does for wifi? thx

No, it doesn't. The Dell Dimension 4600 doesn't come with wireless. If you want to add wireless connectivity, you will need a Wi-Fi PCI card, like the following:

My dell inspiron touch pad will not work in regular start up mode but will in safe mode

If you have your pre-installed software try going into your device manager and double click the "mouse/pointing device"
Under "driver" Uninstall this item and then restart your computer.
When you do your computer will see that the device is not installed and ask to install it. Have it install using software on your computer unless it cannot locate it. In this case you will need your pre-installed drivers.
If this does not work have your computer go on line to search for a better driver.
Thank you!
